Hi , my centrifugal clutch is the sma eas this but at the rear of mine the springs I think they are seem loose . They are built into the drum so I cant access them . One is like a yellow colour and doesnt move . Does this sound right , the rest make a slight rattle when rotated

Question? When putting the side engine cover back on the inside blind bearing don’t slide right on the clutch does it need to be hammered to set that bearing back onto the clutch? I took the old blind bearing out and have a new one to install it.

Nice video but I have a question . I put a gear reduction in my 2001 Trx450es (primary gear and clutch basket out of a 300) and used your video as a guide but once I put everything back together it goes into gear (I shift it manually and with the motor) but does not move. It jerks when it initially shift into gear but will not move with any throttle .. maybe a slight creep at first for a sec but that it ? I’m lost trying to figure out what I did wrong an insight would be appreciated- thanks

I also have a question. I have a 2000 Honda TRX motor with this type of clutch. I believe that revving it up from idle i hear a clunk each time that is the centrifugal weights spanning out. If i idle it up slowly, i usually dont hear it. Have you heard of this before? Is it possibly the spring weights wore out? Any help would be great before i decide to take it apart.

My 2003 Foreman 450S is slipping in 1st 2nd and 3rd. I pulled the crankcase cover and when I put it all back. It started to slip. I removed it and double checked I had it all back right and it was. 4th and 5th work great. No slipping. I tried adjusting. It helped alittle but we back the same. Which clutch do I need to change?

When should you replace the clutches themselves? The centrifugal and the secondary with actual plates.

So I'm searching for some really technical info on my '01 Honda Rancher 350 (not ES): Lately I've been having difficulty shifting, it'll appear to get stuck in a gear, or neutral. So I did the clutch adjustment, and I tried the "1/4 turn clockwise after resistance is felt" and I've tried only 1/8 turn, and no turn back at all - I get the same results. I can shift it perfect on flat ground, and with it nose-uphill, but if it's pointed downhill it won't shift. I can sometimes get it to shift once, maybe twice if I'm lucky (neutral to first, and if I'm lucky back to neutral) but it seems to me like something must be affected by gravity, as if something is sliding on a shaft towards the nose of the machine and once I shift it and it jiggles, it won't shift again. If I roll down the hill to flat ground and kick the shifter up and down and cause some jiggling inside, it will shift again, or if I continue down the hill and back to an uphill it will shift almost immediately (this is why my brain is stuck on the idea something is "shifting" or sliding from front to back, and vice versa, inside the case.) It also doesn't matter if I roll the machine forward or backwards a bit (that was my first thought) so we can cut that out of the possibilities lol) With your knowledge, is there anything that you can think of that would cause it to act like this? I heard the shift plate can crack, but in everyone else's experience it won't shift at all, and that's not the situation with my current problem... mine just won't shift when on a decently steep downhill slope. I REALLY hope you can help me out with this. I've been trying to research if there's a spring in there that should be keeping things tight on the shaft or something along that idea, and trying to watch videos (like yours) where I can see the internal workings and get a better idea of what might be my culprit, but I'm coming-up with no good possibilities. Nice video, with the exception of details showing how to remove the locking nut and that poor design to lock the clutch baskets into place. It all looks good on video.

no such thing as stanard nuts on honda's..everything is metric. on the change clutch ?, you coulda just pulled the center bearing out, then removed the change clutch. NEVER, EVER, HAMMER ON AN ENGINE CASE !. i'd hate to have you work on any engine of mine..oh wait...i know how to correctly mind you, tear engines down, and rebuild them. but thanks for the '' some what good info '' video.
