I agree with Frank Pichardo, and without referencing scripture, the Holy Spirit's job is essentially to provide communication to God and allow us to essentially have Jesus with us at all times, as well as convict us and guide us with scripture. In essence, if you feel the Holy Spirit say anything that contradicts or adds or removes a concept to the Bible, then it's not the Holy Spirit. However, the Holy Spirit moreso gives us revelations to guide us in unique and new situations today according to scripture.

Hey there H W. Yes I’m not suggesting God cannot reveal things to us. What I’m saying is when people claim that God have them a word when in many instances it is NOT a word from God and there is no real way to confirm whether that word is from God or from them. So we just need to be careful and discerning and be sure it’s lines up with scripture.

Allen is right. You will KNOW when we are in the last days, there will be NO DOUBT in your mind. Read the many other Bible verses (approx 70) that describe the last days. Read past verse 17 in Acts, Luke gives us more ways to know we are in the "last days"- "...the sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon will turn blood red, and anyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved'. There's more, so read all of chapter 2, especially Acts 2:17-21. When these "last days" come, THEN there will be prophesy, visions and dreams from God. Until then we will cherish, and heed the words from our ancient prophets.

Great question. It’s not that I don’t believe in them. It’s the fact that unfortunately you see so much misuse these days in the body of Christ. Think about it. Christians are constantly walking around saying God told me this or God said that. Indeed God can reveal things to us. But some people overuse it and I just think we need to be very careful when we lead with the words God told me because it is a very serious thing to speak for God. As for prophecies, many of the people that claim to be prophets today are not prophesying specific things. Their prophecies are weak, vague and general and almost always impossible to confirm. When you look at the prophets in the Old Testament, what they did more of was exposing the sinful practices of the day rather than telling the future. Telling the future was a very small part of their role as a prophet. But yet, it seems to be a very large role of modern day prophets. In my opinion, this is reverse. In the Old Testament the prophets would warn people of God‘s judgment if they did not change their ways. You don’t see this happening very much today with these modern day prophets. DJ true but Paul I don’t think told Paul made it so we’re aloud to. I personally believe that he just reminded the church that we are no longer under the old covenant. We don’t have to follow Jewish law anymore because of Jesus. Accepting Him into your heart and living in Gods will is the only thing that matters. But I do get what your saying. vicky maffeo you have to ask the Holy Spirit these questions. Ask for discernment. Personally I’ve learned a lot from Steven Furtick. I’m also learning not to put everything in one person, always keep an active relationship with God. Remember Jesus told Peter on this Rock I will build my church. Then later he rebuked him (the spirit that was influencing him) at that time. So, was Peter evil or human enough to operate by the wrong influence some times?!

Read the Bible for yourself. Understand the context in which it was written, and why it was written. Then see if Pastor Furtick teaches sound doctrine. In my opinion he does not teach the Bible correctly at times. He’s a great orator, and knows how to work a room. But the goal is to provide your Audience a true representation of the Gospel.

Paul rebuked him for not eating with the gentiles but preaching to live your neighbor. What peter taught was the truth(infallible) but he did not practice what he preached therefore he was not (impeccable), but that doesnt make his teachings less true they will always remain true.
