Hahah. I know right? CBSA should really just have a link to this video 😂 As for insurance, I think you could take the same bill of sale info to insurer (ICBC in BC) prior to getting it at border and they will sell you a 1-day insurance for like 47$. Or just tow it with own vehicle.

For anyone facing a title predicament, you can register any older vehicle in Vermont by sending in some paperwork to the Vermont DMV. As long as the vehicle is not stolen, VT will send you tags and a registration in the mail, which you can then get transferred to a title in the state you live in.

@@thomasbarlow4223 Your paying the enviro fee for when the day comes that it will be disposed of. It is charged on any vehicle new or used coming into the country. All new car dealers pass the fee on. Of course on a used vehicle bought within Canada it has already been paid when it was first purchased.

Just a Tip, If you are having trouble getting the title you can file/register for a lost title in a diffrefent state and if you chose a state without vehicle inspections it can all be done through the mail. The DMV of that state will send you a title and plates, but you why have to pay taxes. I know you can use an address form a separate state but I don't know about a separate country. Vermont is a good state for this if I remember correctly.

The shipping company raising the price is normal operating procedures, my cousin worked for a moving broker and he said they would call every time before the move and raise the price and the shipper they hired would show up and raise the price even more and pocket the price that was paid over the quote they got on the phone, he worked for 3 different brokers and they all operated the same.

Get that truck oil sprayed if you plan on using it year round! Friend's got his grandfathers 95 F150 with next to no rust thanks to krown oil spray. For the cost its definitely worth it

I needed to ship a car across the us, same thing. Truck ready need more money. Instead my brother drove it for me. I dealt with 8 different shippers. Never again. I drive a semi. Do not let them screw you. He had a fantastic drive as well. That is because we planned around weather or u might double your length of trip. Great info.

You’d never find a OBS crew cab in Canada that’s not rusted out or beat to hell. The loggers on the West Coast bought thousands of 350 crew cabs the ones that spent most of their life in the bush are rust free but hammered to death.

Bullseye Shipping. I shipped with them on the way out to Cali from Buffalo (big ass old Fairlane too), and my cousin just had two vehicles, an old F100 and a Corvette shipped back to Buffalo from Cali late last year. Fantastic experience both times.

Something you should know and other Canadians should know is there is 50 different Titles in the USA and it's best to look online at the different titles by state.

I had my truck shipped from Santa Barbra Cali to northern Maine for 900 bucks, it's way easier through a dealership too. Plus younger than a set amount of years,ithink 15 years , all recalls must be done.

It's funny you say you won't buy there anymore. Last week I was gassing up my 02' F250 Super Crew when the guy on the other side of the isle asked if I'd like to sell the truck. He said he was from close to Toronto and has a 4wd he uses for winter, but wants a nice solid truck for summertime.. I immediately thought of you and told him so. He said he watches your channel as well!!! lol.. I didn't sell him the truck, but honestly, I think when the time comes, I am going to advertise it in the Northern States and around Toronto.

It’s also important to ensure it’s a CLEAN title. Most states allow you to have a vehicle that has been in an accident re registered as ok after an accident where the insurance has paid out a claim. They inspect it and ok it for the road, in California that vehicles title will say salvaged. It can still be driven and insured on the hiway after getting a n inspection, but the title will say salvaged. It’s my understanding you cannot import these. Smog is another California specific hazard. If it’s the right car it might be worth importing it to another state ( like Nevada) having it inspected there and registered as a clean title, then import it into Canada. I’ve imported two vehicles as well. It’s a hassle and not that hard. Thanks DeBoss Garage for putting this video out there. Curious how you found the DMV vs the Govt service in Ontario?

Just did this with an International 4300 Dump. Couldn't understand the gov-jargon related to ITN/SED so paid a broker few hundred to handle all the paperwork and border clearance which was nice as they gave me a nice sheet for my driver to give border to handle it all plus I could prepay taxes that way so didn't have to be present when it crossed. As per transport over border, drove it over with a NC state temp tag and border officer was fine with it but promptly got a warning from Ontario's finest that that wasn't exactly fine with them. Drove it right to the shop for safety/etest and had them dealer plate it to get the RIV inspection.

@Henry Was a warning not a ticket so coulda been worse. Technically should have Ontario temps to drive in Ontario, problem is can't get those without an Ontario title. Usually not a problem with passenger cars and trucks you can toss on a trailer and drag to the shop to get the process done. But for med/heavy stuff it's not cost effective to bring out the float trailer or pay the big wrecker to come out and move it.

Subscribed, if you buy a car or truck intended for sale in California or New York it would have stricter emissions standards then a car sold in Chicago Illinois. The catalytic converters on cars in Cali and New York are generally CARB certified for that state. I work with some guys who live south of Chicago in a different county and they are completely emissions exempt to my shock

I’m looking at a 95 Supra that’s for sale in Canada for $45,000 USD already including sales tax which was 12%. The sales man at the dealership said they have a guy who can transport the car from Canada to Texas which is where I live . Would I have to worry about any extra fees or paper work that the transportation company may give me or is that all included in the quote the gave me ? So how would I finance a car in Canada if I’m purchasing from the U.S ? Would I take an auto loan from my bank here in the U.S then wire the money to the dealership? Thank you

i buy old honda z50s and ct70s and atc70s without title but seller has to dissasemble the bike and ship it to me so its basically just parts. then i put it back together. easy on mini vintage bikes
