Can you do a video on compacted or wet sand? You're the best!
@SteezyB.Ай бұрын
Yes! My home course has several deep bunkers with big lips, and also hard packed sand. I would always think to myself if they were proper bunkers I wouldn’t be so terrified of them lol

Thanks, Brad really appreciate the bunker lesson. All the best to you from Down under in Aust.

Thanks for adding demonstrations. Really helps to visualize what you're explaining. Can't wait for lessons with the boys. 🔥

Brad, I've been watching GG forever and I'm so glad you basically took over the GG labs channel. You're a great teacher. One thing I struggle with though is my alignment on bunker shots. You say in this video "just left of the flag" but that's kinda relative. I like using the bounce on flop shots but can never seem to get the bounce/alignment right on bunker shots. Distance/contact/spin is good but I'm 8 ft to either side. Any recommendations?

Love the instruction we could definitely use some arrows or on screen editing to help visually aid your talking points

Great video Brad. Do you change any of the fundamentals you covered when the sand is different? For example harder, softer, less or more sand?

Maybe in the future, a tutorial on how to get out of wet bunkers.

I try and avoid the sand at all costs, however, I got some good stuff from this session and will give t a practice before my next round, thank you

Great tutorial, Thank you Brad. Could you tell us a bit more about alignement ? Do you open your stance too ? As a High handicap player, I'm always afraid to open the club face that much and see my ball go to the right of the pin

you don’t have to aim as far off as you think just fwiw

i couldn’t explain it better than brad could if my life depended on it

I saw Bryson describing this on Martin B’s channel. He said if your face is open you just need to lower the hands to get the club face pointed to the target while still having an open face. No need to open the stance

Where i play, the bunkers are mostly compacted sand, more like playing off dirt. Does this change the swing?
@myunghan35273 ай бұрын
would you open your face in hard and compact sand as well?

I know instructors always say to hit behind the ball in bunkers. Why is this the case? If we want the ball to spin wouldn't we want to hit ball then sand to get the best contact with the grooves?
@icehounddigital6 ай бұрын
You’ll get more spin by hitting the sand.

My 60° is 6° of bounce. My 55° is 10° of bounce. I dont touch that 60° unless the lie absolutely depends on it. Which is almost never lol. It gets used more for full shots.

Can we get a good good labs video with wet/ firm sand cause none of the bunkers around me look like this 😂 maybe 5 times a year I get to play clubs like this.

Actually I prefer to stay in bunkers. The beach is great!

A thought for teaching content - if you ever find yourself saying 'I don't know why we do this' or 'I don't know why this works / helps' it might be good to understand that before teaching stuff to others. Do the research. You might learn something or find what you believe is based on nonsense.... You guys have access to Callaway - I'm sure they can prime you perfectly for content like this. Golf has so many myths, (and I'm not saying any of that is in this video) and as a teacher I think anyone should know the reason behind what they're teaching.
