I wanted to make this video to show how to insert and remove both SIM card and SD card as can be tricky and don't want you to damage your new Moto G5.

quick question Rikki if you don't mind, if I have a micro SIM card will I have to get my provider to send me a nano?

Hi Eamon, thanks for comment either ask if they will send you one out or go into the shop and they may be able to cut the card to a nano but the best option is to get them to send you one out.

Helpful to a degree but also a bit confusing and doesn't tell you if you need to charge up the phone before transferring your sim card and what are the options.

Hi Rikki, my sim won't go in. It appears to be too wide to fit in the slot. Are some sim cards wider than others?

Hey thanks for your comment this device requires smallest sim which known as nano sim and should standard size but may need a new one or resize but don't recommend you doing this as could damage sim.

hi, please ensure you are using Nano Sim (that's the smallest one) also ensure you put it UNDER the SD card slot, the getting it 'in' part is relatively straight forward, its getting it out that's the tricky bit! remember the angled side should be at the top left!!! (its the same system Samsung use in their J series! Happy Tuesday!

Thank you very much....I went to my mobile provider and they cut the card to nano size for free...sadly none of the videos on youtube mentions that this phone uses the new size :-( Thanx Matthew for the help..phone is working :-)

Hey I'm sorry having issues make sure it doesn't have any rough sides as I did and needed to remove them as its a tight fit for this device can also ask network for replacement and explain the issue.

Hi Shashank, thanks for comment this is strange push it back in then lift again with the notch and pus back towards the pins and see if it will come out then if not may need to get the model replaced if experiencing issues with the battery.

I think The Motorola G5 phone is the worst phone I've ever purchased, it's a nightmare getting the back off it to fit the sim card and the software operating system is terrible to operate and I find it impossible to use. Total waste of my time and money and it's just a plastic phone so don't be fooled by the makers metal description it's just like wall paper stuck to the plastic and cheap build.

Thanks for your reply, I will never believe anything I read online anymore, as the reports aren't customer led, but by people who are computer geeks, and not the ordinary consumer, who wants something easy and logical. The software is diabolical especially the txting is a nightmare

I went into three local phone shops today and only one of those shops had a clue how to at least stop the phone from texting all contacts in your phone book, when trying to text one person. I still can't even find the dialing icon so far. The nearly useless instruction manual supplied with this phone, is in very small print that a partially sighted or older person would struggle to read even with a magnifying glass. I can't believe that manufacturers can get away with this sort of thing.

Thanks very much for your kind reply, it took visits to three phone shops to hopefully stop it from texting all the numbers in the phone book. Nobody in the phone shops really know much about this phone so your buying blind. The online info is superficial and the best advice I can is charge the phone, but don't put the sim card in before yo have played with it for a week, then put the sim in and pray it works the way you want. You buy technology and most suppliers don't care anymore once they have your money, that's the modern world but still one or two exceptions that are willing to help you out.
