Follow the steps below to remove the SIM card or MicroSD card from your Moto G5:
1. Locate the pin hole on the top of Moto G5 or Moto G5 Plus
2. Using the provided tool and put the pointy side into the pin hole on your Moto G5.
3. Push the tool until you hear a click and the SIM card / SD Card slot pops out on the Moto G5+

You have to take the back of the phone off.

Don't you have to go into settings and hit unlock?
