I think that your presentation technique is much better than most others. Thanks.

I have had my cam bearings installed by my machine shop, but he is so busy that it can take a month or more just to get on his schedule. I subbed! Keep the great videos coming!

OTC makes a cam bearing tool that you don't have to hammer them in more like a puller...it's smooth 😎

Its $275. I'll hammer.....

I bought the master kit from BHJ. It uses a drawbar and comes with many different mandrels for all the different engines. We install two to three sets of cam bearings in various engine blocks each week, so we needed all the different mandrels. When we come across a cam bearing size we haven't seen before (many new engines in the world today) we make a mandrel to fit the job.

I never put the last cam bearing in from same direction, turn block around, that way centering cone is always used

Hey that’s pretty smart lol! Never even thought of doing that. Thankfully the cam spins super well with no issues!

Best bearings are King bearings you can get cheap by Jegs in house brand boxes.

I am running a stock replacement cam and everything is just stock on my motor. I tried my best to get them as close as I could to the old ones but some of them were off. I made sure the feed hole was lined up with the groove but the holes are not clocked quite right. Should I knock them out and reclock them?

When you inspect the annulus area before driving in bearings, what depth and width is normal/acceptable [assuming less than 7k rpm operation]? Most people forget these, but spotting a casting/machining issue early could save a rotating assembly.

I unfortunately do not know, but the engine was running prior to me taking ownership, and I know that the previous camshaft rotated quite smoothly, so I was confident going into this that the cam would be fine without needing to repair or rebore for any casting issues!

DON"T clean it out with water after bearing instal to remove shavingsl!!! Just Air thanks.

Spraying brake clean on metal shavings does not make them go away.
