Step by step how to lower your 2020 Durango R/T with Eibach lowering springs and Mopar dealership shocks. #mopar #durangort #eibach Learn from my mistakes as I go and lower your Durango in your driveway! The job overall took me a few days, but that was due to a lack of instructions and trial and error. If I had to do it again knowing what I know now I'd say its a 6-8 hr job., set aside a weekend and you can do it! You'll need a spring compressor and if yours has the self-leveling shocks like ours did, you will replace them with non leveling shocks. The video explains part numbers and more about it. This dropped the car down and it looks so good! UPDATE: 5 months later the car handles like it's on rails and is low and mean, we are still very happy.

I have the 22 SRT 392 and am considering this lowering kit . So far only the mid muffler delete has been done . I'm looking forward to PAYING someone to do this once the SRT /Hellcat kit becomes available ! LOL. I have enough years under my belt to recognize when the job goes to the pros . Plus getting up and down from the ground gets harder as the years go by . Thanks for saving me from myself !!!

Came here to see how others got the damn front strut past the axle and can’t believe how well you documented that struggle. I was hesitant to pull the axle because I wasn’t sure what that entailed (I.e. clips, shims). On top of that I was also curious why the eibach is longer and was doubting I got the right part number. Currently calling it a night because of all things I don’t have a 6mm Allen key to tighten my Bilstein shock top nut. Really annoyed with a lot of aspects of working on the R/T but all these vids really help.

A couple of questions for you: Was the shock mount plate not needed? I see it listed on the mopar website and is supposed to go on top of the shock mount but don’t see you have installed it. What about the shock dust shield? Was that not needed? I see the LL shock has them and they are also listed on mopar website, I suppose is optional? Thank you for your help!
@FanelliRestorations

Good questions, yes we installed it and you need the shock mount you can see me put it on the shock at 45:17 and show it closer at 47:07. The dust shield doesn’t come with the new shocks we ordered, not necessary to have. Optional just depends on preference we don’t think the car will see much dust and debris.

What happens if I put the lowered spring and keep the load leveling???
@FanelliRestorations
@FanelliRestorations Жыл бұрын
If you don’t change out the shocks, the load leveling shocks will continue to push the rear of the car back up and sort of defeat the purpose of lowering the car, so it will still ride and handle fine, but you won’t really see the result of the rear of the car lowered.

Hello no I’m talking about that yellow urethane bumper that’s mounted on the shaft of the shock. As I noticed in your video and as I am experience there is no travel anymore for the shock the bumper is hitting the upper shock mount and the top of the shock.
