On the clutch side you can put a layer of heat shrink tubing directly on the handlebar to act as a thermal insulator (I use the ones with the sealant inside too as it acts as an adhesive when heated). Then put the heating element on top of the heat shrink, then the grip on. This helps prevent all of the heat from being conducted into the aluminum bars which would act as a heat sink without the heat shrink insulator. This is not needed for the throttle side if using a plastic throttle tube since plastic is a decent thermal insulator.

Hair spray works good for grip glue and dries pretty fast. Just spray the bar down and slide the grip back on and it will stay! Easy peasy!

That connector is called a Posi-Lock. Sorry but I had to Google until I found them. It was driving me nuts.

Could the grips be removed after they are worn without damaging the heater elements?

I know the big 4-strokes are prone to overheat in the summer, but putting a fan on a winter ride seems like overkill (unless it has been a summer bike and you have not removed the fan)? Just thinking since the bike seemed to be a 2015 (orange frame). We usually add a layer of foam in front of the radiators to decrease the cold breeze.

Installed with both wires in battery (negative and positive) but still don’t work. The grips just stay on regardless of the switch position selection
