It’s just power and ground. Follow the wires back and use there colored to signify if the wire is going to a single point ground or coming off a power source. Follow the wiring diagram

You can get a 12V relay, connect the light to Common, and NC, then your signal lead to Coil. This mod will give you the operation you are looking for.

+James May You will need to go through a trial-and-error sequence looking for the pair that will give you signal lamp function without running light. Green is most likely going to be ground so you can start by touching green to black on our signals and then trying yellow from our signals to one of the remaining two. Have your signal powered up at that time so you can identify the correct combination. Make sure you don't pick the combination in which the running light still works as that will cause problems with your signaling system down the line.

On different years they have different colors wires in different locations. Yamaha changes these pretty often, your best option is going to be trial and error. There is only two options so it shouldn't be too difficult.

These are signal lights. They are not equipped with a running light circuit.

You can take the entire fairing off the bike if you wish. That method may be easier for you in the long run.

On different models and years of Yamahas the pins in the OEM plugs are in different locations. This is why it is impossible to come up with a universal color code for the connection. Our connectors are 3OEM-3Bullet so you can pick a combination of two that work for you. The way you have them plugged in right now sounds that you got the ground right, but connected the running light lead instead of the signal lead. Switch the yellow for red and you should be good to go.

Just ordered the signal relay. Jason said hook this up to my R6 and match them up and I should be good to go!!.

I think you may have had a miscommunication with him...the "right" connectors are the ones that make the signal light work and not necessarily the color code matching connectors.We do not have a survey of all the working combinations on Yamahas yet, otherwise we would provide a definite color code chart for each model and year. I hope this clarifies the issue.

Yest the same wiring procedure works for 2008 and up. The fairings differ just a little so what you need to loosen to get access behind the fairing will be a little different. We do have OEM signal plug converters that do away with the need to wire up the signals. These converters plug into the bullet connectors on the new signals, and the other end plugs into the OEM harness.

They include an instruction sheet inside the box. It should not be too difficult to get them on using the steps in the instructions.
