I seldom even think of working on a car and just take it to a shop but wanted to give this a try since I was quoted a touch over 300 from 3 different shops. All I didn’t have was the brake caliper winder but autozone will rent the tool for free or a universal set is 20 bucks. I used a floor jack and and removed the the tires the old fashioned way. So me with limited mechanic skills do everything by hand in my garage was able to complete both back brakes in under a hour and that time includes going to autozone for the parts and tool loan. Your video is perfect and well done other than the ft lbs on the bolt slip up. Thank you for making the video!

Technically you can do the same thing with a c-clamp and a pair of channellock pliers to turn it as you compress but it’s definitely not as simple as the tool made for it.

Normally your video's are very helpful. However, 53 lb-ft on the caliper bolts stripped mine out. The torque spec is actually 24 lb-ft. Also the bracket torque should be 76 lb-ft not 111 lb-ft.

For anyone having trouble with the retainer bolt on the rotors, cautiously using a breaker bar with a snugly fit torx bit did the trick for me. Had to use a few drive adapters with a socket that snugly fit the torx bit, but it cracked that screw nicely.

⚠️WARNING⚠️ THE TORQUE SPECS GIVEN IN THIS VIDEO ARE NOT 100% ACCURATE!!! If you use the recommended torque values (110lbs.) in this video you WILL SNAP OFF YOUR caliper bracket BOLTS 🔩. The PROPER VALUES ARE AS FOLLOWS: “Torx” disc retainer screw: 20 ft.lbs. Caliper bracket bolts: 76 ft.lbs. Caliper bolts: 24 ft.lbs. Wheel lug nuts: 100 ft.lbs. While I did not make this mistake, after reading/researching the comments here & professional guides elsewhere I felt posting this may save someone from otherwise experiencing heartache, headache, and grief. I hope you read this before following the instructions in the above video, rather than after!
