Great video. One question: the plastic end piece by the trunk, does that piece go back on the roof or does the new rail cover that area?

Thanks for this video! So how much weight can the cross bars handle?

@Longologo - nice video, helpful. Do you know if these rails and bars will work for Honda CRV 2015 Ex model. I am looking to buy and install.

Do you think it's possible to modify to attach front crossbar so it attaches in front of sunroof to give a longer spread between the bars?
@LongologoProductions Жыл бұрын
@Perception Management Inc.: not with these specific rails and I also wouldn’t do that. It’s probably designed the way it is to distribute the potential roof load on the B pillar and the rear, instead of at the front closer to the windshield.

Hi, I noticed the cross bars are screwed right into the holes on the inside rails. Questions: are the side rails made of plastic and strong enough to hold the cross bars? I am thinking of putting 2 bikes on top, are they sturdy enough to carry them?
@LongologoProductions2 жыл бұрын
@J Tse: Thanks for your comment. The rails are strong enough. I have put 3 bikes up there without any problems. Just make sure you stay under the weight limit. The instructions indicate that the "weight of the cargo must not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 75 kg (165 lbs)."

what cargo box did you end up getting to work with these crossbars and not interfere with the antenna? I installed the same crossbars. Thanks for your video.
@LongologoProductions4 жыл бұрын
I use a Yakima skybox 16. It grips to the slim crossbars on the Honda but also on older round crossbars. I also use Yakima Frontloader bike racks. The antenna is easily unscrewed by hand if it interferes with your roof box. Or you can let the roof box bend it down. I’ve done both.

I have factory installed roof rails. Installing after market racks and noticed that the screw holes on the rails are not aligned. There seems to be a cover for moving those rail mounting points but I'm not sure and I don't want to be aggressive with those covers. Any ideas?
@LongologoProductions2 жыл бұрын
@Mike Kojoori: I would double-check that each rail is installed exactly the same way, using the same screw holes on each. That way you can be sure that the rails are aligned. Reverse the process shown in this video to remove and check each rail. Good luck.

Are the rails made of aluminum? The description from the dealership claims aluminum but watching the video I can’t see no aluminum. Do you know where the aluminum takes part in the rails ? Thanks awesome video btw
@LongologoProductions2 жыл бұрын
@evelyn pardo: Thanks! From what I can remember there is metal in part of the rails (running front to back of the car). But the silver color top pieces are metal-colored plastic trim. I believe the metal is underneath. The crossbars are black powder coated or painted metal. Hope that helps!
