Micro-Air feels we've made a bit too much of a big deal of our EasyStart's learning starts. Our owner wants everyone to know that there is an easier way to handle learning starts: simply plug in your rig and walk away. There's no need to force the 5 learning start like our paperwork discusses. Normal cycling through the starts each time the RV's AC reaches temperature set point is good enough. Five starts occur within a couple of hours of installation in most cases. Observing the outside temperature, set the desired temp a bit below that for AC (or above for heat pump) and let 'er rip! If you are in a rush, by all means force the starts like Aaron does in his video. If not, go out and enjoy the great outdoors instead.

Nice quick review of how to do the install. Good job and this helps for my install tomorrow. I am curious, you didn’t discharge the capacitor. I’m assuming you forgot or were just careful what you touched. The other thought that came to mind: be careful on your roof with a camera selfie standing up!! I wouldn’t like to see a KZfaq video of you falling off and something happening . . .

I tested it by running 2 ACs at the same time and after about 4 or 5 hours the batteries were down below 30%. Of course if its really hot they will run more often and use batteries faster but with the solar and bright sun it does really well. Hope that helps. I do solar installs and I'm a lithium battery dealer so when you get ready let me know and I can shoot you an estimate. :) Safe Travels

Good video, I received mine from Hutch Mountain today and am getting ready to attempt it. I was just curious if you could splice the black wire into the blue inside of the box without the need for the jumper wire?
@JonesN2Travel
@JonesN2Travel 2 жыл бұрын
HI there. Yes, you could as long as the ac wiring is long enough. What I've been doing lately is splicing the black wire into the blue just behind the electrical box. This allows the re-use of the factory grommet by leaving that one extra wire outside the box. Hope that makes sense. Safe Travels

This product claims that you can run both AC's on 30AMP service. Here's the thing, my coach has a switch between the front AC and the rear AC. The only time I can run both AC's is if I am running the generator because it has a 20A dedicated circuit for the rear AC. So if I am plugged into shore power? How can I run both AC's at the same time? Or perhaps I misunderstood.
@JonesN2Travel
@JonesN2Travel 3 жыл бұрын
Hi David. When your on shore power your entire coach should have power and you should be able to run everything. When you are on your generator it may not be powerful enough to run both acs so they may have it split off. Not sure why you would only be able to runone at a time. It's the starting amps that the micro Air reduces.
@davidthomas4489
@davidthomas4489 3 жыл бұрын
@@JonesN2Travel Not in my case. There are two separate circuits for both AC's. The one that controls the front and the back via a switch. In order to run both AC's together, my generator has to be on because it has a dedicated fuse. My coach is simply not wired to have both AC's running at the same time unless the 7000 watt generator is running. That's why the manufacturer put a 7000 watt in my coach due to the load responsibilities. When plugged into shore, I can only operate one or the other because of how it's wired. Now, today's coaches, many of which are on a 50 A system, are wired differently and could benefit from this product. Due the lack of 50A service in some parks for example. I believe that audience as well as those who have very small generators, inverters, and a single AC will highly benefit.

@@TheEastCoastSensation I discovered a way to run both airs at a campground in my situation. Install a 20A transfer switch in between the rear AC and the generator. One has an output to load (the AC) and the other two are inputs. One from the generator and another (which there is a plug on one end) can be ran to the 15/20 A pedestal at the campground.

I hope folks don't listen to your install on the EasyStart placement. You put it right in front of the A/C blower motor. Big no no and I'm sure you already found that out the hardway being you did this install over 2 years ago. MicroAir even states you shouldn't put in there as you are blocking the blower motor from dissipating the heat from inside the A/C housing and will also overheat the EasyStart causing issues all around. The Easy Start is supposed to install on the same side but opposite end with it being half on the Styrofoam wall and half on the black plastic area nestled and facing the copper pipe.
@JonesN2Travel
@JonesN2Travel 2 жыл бұрын
Not all model ac units have that configuration so sometimes you have to get creative with the placement. In the nearly 3 years I've had them installed I have had zero issues with the ac units or the Easy starts. I've installed over 50 of these without issue. Safe Travels

@@JonesN2Travel Not talking about all other ACs. Talking about your Dometic Penguin II which is what is installed in all current Airstreams and what I own and can speak towards as well. Basic install for all late model Dometic units such as yours is pretty much the same. If you watch this video at the 2:14 mark, the MicroAir engineer specifically states this important detail. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oJdnmZd_2Zvak4k.html If you don't have problems yet, you will eventually. Thought it would be important you tell your subscribers the correct placement for the install. I just installed 2 units of the Bluetooth version in my 2022 Airstream Flying Cloud 27FBT 13.5k and 15k BTU A/C units and highly recommend the device. You might as well get cracking to contact all the owners of the 50 units you installed while your at it 😉
