Incase anyone is installing theses and doesnt want to mess around... 12mm to remove the factory bolts. 1/2" to install the new ones, except the two under headlights are 10mm. Torx T30 allen key.

yes I am also interested and it looks like it is screwed into plastic part :-(

@@bosley1980 It's not screwed into the plastic, it's clamped around the bar. it's sort of like a pad/buffer for when you do drop the bike so the metal of the bars don't bang up your plastics.

helps to slide the bike without damaging the crash bars.

I just fitted these. In the instructions it stresses to make sure the bolts are installed from the throttle/water pump side, but this shows the opposite? I wouldn't say these are the most sturdy thing ever but will give some protection for less weight than many other variants. Blue colour doesn't quite match 2022 blue, not as shiny, not perfect finish either. But I'll keep them. Look better than black.

I have heed full bars (bunker ) weight is 10.5 kg which made my bike super top heavy and the handling on dirt curves is not good. Am thinking really of selling mine and get theses ones they are 2.8kg which is amazing.

The mounting tab design on the bottom left side is terrible. It bent so easy with a 0 mph tip over. Look at the warranty on there website... Designed for cosmetic purposes only. Reached out via email with no response either. The right side is stronger because of the different mounting tab. Wish I had bought heed upper bars. It's not the aluminum strength you have to worry about. It's poor engineering at the mount. I'm happy with AS rear rack and pannier setup. Crash bars are trash

I dropped my bike yesterday on the right side in deep sand no damage. but then dropped it on the left side ( still deep sand) the bars bent all the way in to touch the plastics and a small bolt came out of the lower cross bar. this was a low speed crash 5-10mph in sand dunes. Going to bend it back for the time being. Then to buy some Heed bars.

hi it's a joke an aluminum crasch bar if there is one thing that must be steel it is a crasch bar. aluminum does not have the same resistance. on a bike of 200 kg you will not feel 2 kg more at best you can gain 2.5 kg on the pot and 2 kg by installing a lithium battery.

@@bosley1980 Hello, I always lighten a maximum my motorcycles but for bikes dual sport of (200 kg) 440 pounds, having a high fairing. Aluminum is not the right choice, we are far from the resistance of steel. for equal resistance, a huge aluminum tube diameter should be chosen to reach the resistance of the steel. but if you are convinced that it is the right choice, then buy. (I work steel for many years and a little aluminum, copper, brass and other materials) cordially. .

Aluminum, while softer, has a higher strength to weight ratio. Meaning that if you had two beams, that both weigh the exact same, with the only difference being that one is made of aluminum and therefore has a bigger cross section, it will take more load before it breaks (generally speaking). This is coming from a mechanical engineer. Personally, I still prefer steel for things like this because it doesn't succumb to fatigue as easily so you can bend it back after falling multiple times. Also, weldability is a huge plus.
