How To Jump Higher - Ankle Flexion - Parkour Training
**Get Started in Parkour Click HERE - bit.ly/Tja6i5MysT8
In this video I wanted to share with you a quick tip for improving your jumps. Get more height and spring wiith your jumps while also developing more control with your landings.
I picked up these techniques and exercises from my ballet and dance instructor - Caitlin Geier from the Blue 8 team.
We will be focusing on developing our ankle strength particularly practicing the ankle flexion we will want to perform during our jump to maximize height.
I show you a few different exercises to practice and train to develop this strength for your jump.
Train safe,
Thomas

Coming from a grown ass man ignore these kids. Thank you very much for these exercises. I'm having a hard time dunking off my left foot after a few rolled ankles over the years. These have really helped me get that explosiveness back in my left (dominant) leg.

wow, your training is awesome. I've been doing it for 2 days, then I let my legs rest. Just today(which was 4 days since I saw this video), after my normal routine work out(not ankle, the whole leg), I jumped to test my height, and I jumped 1-1.5 inches higher. Thank you so much!

Hey! I've been watching your videos for a little bit now! Love them! They are making me want to start working out more and actually start learning parkour! But I'm a beginner that is kinda out of shape and so I need to build up my strength and core first, and what's great is I want to drag, I mean invite, my best friend to do this with me! Do you have a good video that is just basic strength and core training to prepare us for learning basics parkour, flips, and handstands and such? Thanks so much!! Keep doin what you're doin!!

What you call "second position" is first in classical ballet. The wider stance is second. And your feet should be turned out in all positions. Also, classical style demands demi plie when you land after a jump("saute" in ballet parlance). Thanks for bringing classical technique to martial artists, though. :) It's helped me a lot in martial training the last few years.

Try tilting your feet inward and put most of the force on the thumb side of the ball of the foot. Often times I click and pop because my feet are tilted outwards (I have bowlegs). Wearing an ankle support sock also helps I guess because it holds the joint and tendons together so it doesn't jump around when you move. Take it with a grain of salt. Everyone is different. Thats my take.
