My NOCO power pack saved me when my alternator stopped working. It served as my car battery and allowed me to drive home. And I have helped jump start 3 people at Walmart or whever with it. I don't drive without it anymore.

I got one similar to yours in a pawn shop, and ever since I've wondered how I ever got by without it. Best story was when my alternator went out, battery ran down, and I just made it home driving with the jumper box connected to the battery, the hood 3/4 closed, resting on an old bucket, and held down with a bungee cord. Other drivers were getting a good laugh at me, driving with my head out the window like a dog. 😀

You should let people know that it's not only the engine size, but if it's a diesel because of the higher compression, it needs a higher amperage to turn the engine. 😉 Thanks, Faye! I love your channel and I love and miss my Supras so of course I love your cars as well! And your silky bantam hens!

After getting a modern car (2018 - which was the first car I ever bought new), I started having to use one of these now and then because I live in a very walkable area, work from home, and sometimes go several weeks without driving. If I accidentally leave my dashcam plugged in, it dies even quicker. Also, this happened when I went to a drive-in movie and played the audio off of the car stereo. Now I have a portable FM radio I use in my car for drive-ins.

Honestly one of my most used tools. I have tried several brands now and Hulkman is fantastic for the money. Personally not a fan of NOCO as you are paying a lot for the brand name. Antigravity has a pretty good unit as well. The strong packs have no issue starting a car by themselves with no battery attached, but then you have to be very careful not to reverse polarity. Overall, jump packs like this have saved me many hours and hauling batteries around or messing with jumper cables in tough spots and I've also used them to save rescue quite a few people with dead batteries!

I like these things, but they seem to die so quickly. Like, 1 to 3 years. Ironically, the one that lasted the longest was the one that got the most uses. The other two saw fewer than 6 uses before the internal battery suddenly swelled so much after an attempted use that the plastic over-mold case separated at the seams. The Schumacher brand I had (not the one shown here) was the one that only lasted 1 year, and saw the least amount of use.

@CamdenBloke
@CamdenBloke 9 ай бұрын
ok, important detail - a lot of these have a hidden, undocumented *button* you have to press to activate them after connecting them. So I hook mine up, press the button, and rush to the cabin to start it before the pack deactivates. I've had two packs by two brands (one went with my ex when we broke up) and in both of them, nowehre in the manual did it tell you to press the little button on the side of the cable connector. It was really frustrating when I tried to use each of them for the first time. (I see that yours has a clearly labelled button. On mine, it's an innocuous little button on the side of the detachable connector that connects the pack to the cables)

Hey Faye, KZfaq has decided my timeline should be all about your channel. I think KZfaq made a good call. I have learnt heaps from you. Thank you! I have a question: I heard from an old mechanic that 90s era Japanese cars should only be jumped with the positive on the battery and the negative on the block (or other metal attached to the engine). Wondered if it's an old mechanics tale? His explanation was that this protected the "computer" from unusual current. I have heard this from another old timer but I've never seen/ heard an answer that makes sense. One of the old timers had a few choice horror stories so I've done it that way since (is this how strange rituals start?). What do you think? Is there anything to that? Thanks again. Keep kicking ass.

Hi. Many vehicle books say to attach the ground to the chassis. I've seen Toyota manuals say to attach the ground wire when jumping to the rear suspention (of all things) and generic manuals, like Haynes say to attach it to a 'suitable vehicle point'. I don't think this is just Japanese vehicles. Most people use the battery negative post without bad consequences. The generic advice is to use the chassis, but I don't think it really matters. Any time I've jumped a car I've linked both leads to the the battery despite what is probably the 'right thing to do. What works, works, but Faye, what does yourt manuaI say?

Hey Faye, these jump packs are so awesome not only are they safer but most of the time the hardest part of jumping a car is getting the other car close enough, so your cables will reach. and Panasonic batteries are my favorite batteries used to be able to recharge standard batteries not rechargeable ones i’m talking AAs, AAA, etc. The other battery brands were charged back to around 80%. The Panasonic’s would fully charge and last almost like they did when they were new. I never thought about them making car batteries I assume they don’t sell them here in the states but I’ll look into it the next time I’m in the market for a car battery. i’ve been using Panasonic rechargeable batteries for years and their van tastic the Amazon, basic I really good too. have you seen the rendering for the next generation 2026 supra very interesting I was taken back by it at first thought it looked too much like a Nissan Z but it grew on me and I can really see the mark 3 supra in it especially the front end and from the side. I’ll leave a link to David’s channel if you haven’t come across him he’s excellent very tied in with Toyota and I really want his jacket🙂🐔🐔🐔👍 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n8xxZNt3ubPFiJs.html
