LOVELY! Perfect scarf pattern for my donation knitting group! One change - I slip the first stitch knitwise and purl the last stitch. Doing that gives a smooth edge, which I prefer. Thanks so much!🥰

I am intrigued to make a blanket for a kitty. So touching of an idea. How do you use it? Usually I keep my 3 cats and 1 kitten away from my knitted aphgans because their claws destroy my work. Can you share how you use yours, do you keep kitty in a special bed or???? I have no one to knit for except myself so this is a great idea!

@@ooohlaa13 : Hi Barbara, the kitty blanket that I'm working on is turning out nicely. I keep my cat's claws trimmed, so between the tight weave on the blanket (that's not finished yet) and her claws being nicely trimmed, I'm hoping that there won't be any snagging issues. I also like to do small projects, like baby slippers and scarves. I'm thinking about donating some of these things to hospitals and senior centers. Isn't the So Woolly channel wonderful❓ 🐑🧶

What is the weight of the yarn are you using? What size knitting needle are you using? How many balls/skeins do you recommend for making a scarf? How wide (inches) does this scarf measure?

I love the look of this stitch. Everyone comments how lovely it would be for a scarf. Is it not suitable for anything wider, such as a shawl? I am looking for a new stitch to use on a prayer shawl which would measure 24-30 inches wide. Thanks! I love your videos.

Hello! I’d say 5 mm or US 8 is a nice needle size to start. The length is up to you (I prefer the shorter ones. You’ll find your favorites after trying different lengths). With regards to the yarn, it’s better to start with wool yarn (worsted weight or medium). Wool yarn is very forgiving, and easy to work with. Welcome and enjoy your journey! Carolina 🤗

What sizes needles and wool are best for this?

It will look great in Merino Superwash wool (worsted weight), and 4.5 mm or 5 mm needles. My swatch for this video was made out of that yarn but thicker (bulky), with 7 mm needles. Cotton yarn is also very good for this (anything but fluffy or hairy yarn!).
