This is a super easy 1-row pattern that is immensely engaging as well! I've added 2 extra stitches for the selvedge edges. Pattern from: www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archive...

(4/6/23) Thank you from a very beginning Knitter. I've been practicing on the C2C dishcloth, but I think I’m ready for this scarf. (I’m coming from Crochet, so I do hold my yarn Continental style.) You have a pleasant voice and clear instruction. I will look for more of your videos. 🌻🧶

Excellent video. Pattern works up fast. I’m using this pattern for a dishcloth. It’s thick and cushy with lots of texture. I will add it to my faves list. Thank you for sharing! :)

I've loved this pattern for years. If you use variegated yarn it frequently pools and is great for making square or rectangular motifs to join together later for an afghan.

What do you mean by saying variegated yarns pool? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

very good video and commentary very clear and easy to understand one thing that caught my attention was your translation of KTBL and would also apply to KTFL ...there is only 1 loop and the loop is comprised of 2 legs which straddle the needle making the loop ...which allows us to knit though the front leg ...a regular knit stitch ...KBLT ...knit through back leg which produces a twisted stitch as in this pattern or KTFB ...knit through front leg and the back leg which produces an increase of one stitch ...thank you for your demonstration and post I hope my loop and leg information helps you as your video did me ;-)

Want to do this as a scarf & beanie set, How would I do this is on a circular needle, would it be possible?
@gaidhliglass2 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing since I like doing scarf and hat sets too. I don't know if you ever found your answer, but I did by watching another tuber, So Woolly. She demonstrates both english and continental and explains it's a 2 row repeat. I use different coloured markers to know which row I have to knit. Hope that helps.

I found this pattern on Revelry. It is a nice-looking scarf. I would like to make this scarf. If I'm making for a teen male, how many stitches should I cast on? I would like it to wrap around the neck one and have a little drape (if that makes sense.) Thanks!
@Jayadancer17 жыл бұрын
depends on the weight of yarn - i knitted this for my husband with a worsted weight yarn and casted on 44 sts

@Dreamwrvr6 жыл бұрын
She has cast on 28. At the beginning she says to cast on multiples of 4+2+2. That gives her 28 stitches.
@Dreamwrvr6 жыл бұрын
At :40 you can listen to her say how many to cast on. Hope that helps. 😊

“Not knit through the back loop,” (incorrect as this implies there is a front and back loop), but “knit through the back OF THE loop” because there is only one loop. My apologies, but the knitter/narrator is not a native speaker of English and does not understand the above use of English. I hope this helps everyone. Thank you!
@sweetsachiko20625 ай бұрын
Geez. Every knitting book, every video, and every pattern I’ve seen since I’ve been knitting references this stitch as “knit through the back loop” (ktbl). It’s standard knitting shorthand and has nothing to do with anyone’s English skills (Shame on you! And no, pointing this out was not helpful). She demonstrated it beautifully. Of course it’s not proper grammar, it’s shorthand and I’m pretty sure she didn’t invent it. Lighten up. It’s knitting.
