If range matters enough, you don't built your own transmitter & reciever. It's a fun project. Plenty of range with 2.4Ghz ELRS for most people also. If range matters only then there's satellites.

You can trade bandwidth for range either by using narrow band modulation or as spread spectrum does, it works like statistical averaging to increase signal to noise ratio and uses a wide spectrum. Also tried different and simpler codes, Tried connecting the cables directly and to 3.3v of arduino nano without that extra regulator circuit, Supplied nanos with various voltage sources, lipo's, USB ports, lab power supply, I am quite frustrated and I am not kidding its been at least 10 hours just to make it work in these last 3 days. :')

Still trying, managed to make a code work but now the receiver cannot communicate with the radio, sender is constantly sending packages but no one to receive on the other hand.

​@@johneric2720Well I'm no teacher, nor do I have much experience... in anything electronics related. To me (and to a lot of EEs, even) real RF design is partially magic. However, understanding how this *project* works is simpler. You can buy those nRF24L01P+LNA modules cheaply, and experiment with them and an arduino. The code and schematic are provided, learn to read both. Schematics themselves aren't very complicated, though their contents can be. This one is really simple. I can see that the inputs (joystick, switches) are connected to the arduino, where they would be read as analog inputs. They are processed and sent to the RF module over SPI. On reception, they are decoded, and the raw values are extracted. Then, they are converted to PWM for the servos and ESC. The failure modes are just PWM values that are used when the connection is detected to have failed. Learning code is a lot more complicated, so I can't explain that all in a youtube comment. The key for me was practice, hands-on experience, and watching/reading about a ton of projects on yt, hackaday, etc. I highly suggest you do the same, and research any terms in my comment that you don't understand. Again, I am very far from being an expert, and take everything I said with a grain of salt. I hope I could help you a bit. Good luck, and keep learning!
