How to Make a Folding Up Murphy Bed | PART 1

Күн бұрынThis weeks project is a horizontal Murphy Bed. In this video I walk you through the steps of building a Murphy Bed using the Create - A - Bed Murphy Bed Mechanism Hardware kit from Rockler Woodworking and Supply. The front of the bed cabinet can be trimmed out to give the bed a unique look. Imagination is the limit here. You can trim it to match your existing furniture, add bookcases to the sides and give it that built in look. This is Part 1. Part 2 will be available shortly.

Looking good Laney. I just completed Rocklers' Adapt-A-Bed bunk beds for my 4 year old (next week). My sister has been asking about a Murphy bed so this my be a project down the road. The movement looks impressive. Thanks!

Really nice. When the bed is down can it serve as a couch if I put pillows behind it. Can a twin size mattress fit it? If not is the mattress comfortable for every night use? Thanks.

Harbor Freight has drill bit depth collars that come in so handy!! About $4 a set.

on a different topic interesting construction of your garage-shop are the rafters and wall studs connected with truss connector plates?without top plate?

The wood is cut to size and I'm ready to start assembling. If the wood is to be stained, would you suggest staining the wood before or after it is completely built? I can imagine several areas would be unreachable after assembly. If stained before assembly, how do you fill nail holes and not mess up the stained look? Thanks.
