How to Make a Styrofoam Percher Hat Block

In this video I show you how I make a two-piece, percher style hat block. It's a contemporary block with endless possibilities. In an future video, I'll show you how to block on it.

I loved all your videos, and how you explain every detail of the process. I just want it to mention that when you start cutting the centre, you mentioned to measure 1.5inches but I noticed that it’s actually 1 1/4 inches… sorry if I am pointing this out 🙈 thank you again for sharing with us your amazing craftsmanship

Can you share the sizes of the Styrofoam spheres that you used please. Thank you for sharing this, will ask my hubbie to have a go for me.

I used 6 inch styrofoam balls. The bigger the sphere, the flatter the curve of the hat, but you can make bigger bases with a larger ball.

The smaller one is used later in the blocking. There is a separate video on that.

You can use whatever tool you want.
