I love dinosaurs so I built this T. rex skull lamp out of some reclaimed Ikea wood and black iron pipe.

This is all kinds of awesome, and makes the Six year old me very excited. The 45 year old me likes it too. lol. I would go with a giant T-rex footprint shaped base for mine. Brilliant project!!!

Thanks for the video and the templates! I used them to make a wall lamp out of 4mm beech plywood with a small led bulb to be used as a nightlight: My son loves it already! However, I am still contemplating about the finish: I do not think that the chemical aging will have the same cook effect on the very dense beech - it has very fine grain that almost doesn't show...

Hey Vinny! Great project, I actually ended up making one myself only minus the light! 😊 I have a quick question I'm wanting to make a dragon skull version, how would I go about making a pattern similar to yours? I only have little knowledge in making patterns

I have a video where I show how I make my templates and plans that you might find useful (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZeInJuiz9G2mJs.html). I use Adobe Illustrator but if you don't have Illustrator and want a free alternative, I recommend Inkscape (inkscape.org). I am currently working on a follow-up video where I go into more detail about how I make templates/patterns that span multiple pages but that video isn't quite done yet.

Ha ha. Yeah, the crossed hands thing was very awkward but I had to do it otherwise my left arm would have blocked the camera. The things I do to get the shot...
