This is the kind of thing we need on KZfaq, don’t get me wrong there is obviously a lot of skill in what you’ve done but a straight forward inexpensive tutorial takes a lot of the intimidation out of a project, I have my tub of filler standing by for my 009 quarry layout now!

That's really good. Years ago I madea rock face using tree bark, stripped from a fallen branch I found in some local woodland. I took it home and dried it out completely (in the airing cupboard). The prepped the hill side (a wooded frame, with chicken wire and paper mache over it - this was the 1970's after all) with a slightly thicker than normal decorators plaster, the cut the bark into odd strips and shapes, some I embedded into the plaster, others I used as a die to push impressions into the plaster. Let it dry out then a coat of dilute PVA to seal it in then painted exactly the same way as you did. I worked pretty well

I get my trees cheap on eBay from China as they are only about 20p each. I do have a technique for cheap hedges though and will try and get a video on line about these at some point.
