I love this idea. They are beautiful & creative! I had the same issues as many of you last night with poly. My daughter and I were very disappointed….we could get the glitter to stick, but the photo was not adhering to the ornament. We were using plastic ornament from Michael’s (right now they are on sale buy 1 get 3 free 25 packs). We used laser printed pictures on regular paper and wipe on poly from Home Depot. The supply list on the video post specifies plastic ornaments- not glass. When we could not get the picture to stick, we modified the project and used tattoo paper we had leftover from last years wood ornaments. They turned out pretty well, but they were just a dance logo for my daughter’s friends. I’m not sure a photograph would look as good, especially because the color white does not print on tattoo paper. Today I went back to home depot and bought quick shine brand floor polish and like magic it works just like the video!🎉 We are so excited to make them with photos now! ❤ thanks for this awesome idea

We just finished making 25 of these for our elementary school ornament, and they look amazing. I have to share that the placement of the picture is a little more time consuming if you want to remove all the air bubbles. We also use a fan paint brush and it seems to help move the bubbles to the edges better. Also- make sure you replace the top after it dries. I put it on to take a picture and when I turned the top it scratched the glitter & the picture. I was able to take the lid off and fix it with the paint brush, but I was really worried it was ruined. For the school ornament we are offering 2 sided, 1 with the school theme for the year and the other side the students picture. It is turning out amazing!

I can’t begin to thank you for your photo ornament video. With all the limitations this year, I decided to theme my tree “Memories of People and Places”. I gifted the duplicate people ornaments to those who have visited me after my relocation. They were so grateful and loved them. I will be adding more next year. I aged abit (3 to 5 years) with the C-19. I was blessed to have a few face-spa-mask 2 of them worked nicely and the one which looked more glamorous and scientific did not perform at all. I need to restart my nightly beauty routine and I think that will help. Yes, anything that you can do to feel better about yourself is great. When you don't feel good about yourself it affects your whole world especially your Love ones. So do anything for yourself, it also doing it for your family.

Thank you so much for this video! I’m definitely subscribing. Never thought/heard of floor polish for something like this - genius! I was about to make everything way too difficult with modge podge trying to coat the inside until I found this video, so you saved me so much time and heart ache. I made 11 in about 90 minutes! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

@@jackiehula6425 I used regular copy paper. I printed them at work because it was free. I’m not certain it was a laser printer, but it was an HP which used 950/951. One did bleed a bit - used red glitter and the photo became red but was still discernible. I did discover that since I was cutting the photos out in organic shapes, since I could only size them but so small, it caused some creases and that’s probably what allowed the glitter color to seep. Definitely recommend not going too too big with the image. But 10/11 turned out perfect.

@@maeeng9542 Thanks for replying. I did go to a copy store and get some photos copied on paper. I used the wipe on poly she showed and I had a plastic ornament- it did not stick to ornament. Must need glass, but could not find any. Will have to give it a try next year and shop early for glass.

Use glass ornaments, because especially if you are using the poly it will not stick very well to the plastic. If you use plastic ornaments I would recommend using coconut oil as the glue instead

I'd do an inch smaller than your ornament. If you have a 4" call then do a 3" pic.

It is regular printer paper , I wasted $38 following her amazon list, don't use the poly wipe on polyurethane! The quick shine Floor finish (Multi surface) Green and white from Walmart was the trick

I am in the middle of this project right now. Photo paper doesn't stick. I am now trying computer paper... so far so good. The picture is just wet, so I am leaving to dry overnight. The one thing my husband and I are noticing is that the glitter reflects through the computer paper. This could be beneficial depending on the color you use with the picture.

I tried photographic paper it’s too thick,so go my local Kodak shop to prong them off, and they work a treat. I also printed some off on my own printer and the colours have run.. definitely use pledge floor polish though, not cleaner!
