How To Make DJON DJON Rice (Haitian Black Rice)

This video shows you a detailed, step by step recipe for diri ak djon djon (haitian black rice). If you’ve never had this rice before then you must try it! It’s sooo good! You’ll need:
-2 1/2 cups of dried mushroom (or 3 cubes of maggi djon djon cubes if you can’t purchase the dried mushroom)
-6 cups of water
-3 cups of jasmine or basmati rice
-1 large spoonful of haitian epis (recipe for this: • How To Make Haitian Sp... )
-5 whole cloves
-1 tsp of salt
-1 can of green lima beans or green peas
-1tbsp of olive oil

Yes, not everyone has access to the dried mushroom but I always see the black & gold djon djon maggi cubes in the supermarket

Hopefully you will reply.. if you have the mushroom maggi cubes do you dissolve it in water first or add the cube to the pot and saute it? And how much water do I need for 2 mushroom maggi cubes please?

Sure, i gotta make it again and do a video! It has cheese, penne noodles, evap milk, and finely chopped onions & bell peppers. I did put 2 beaten egg and a lil garlic powder. It was sooooo good man
