In this week's Fused Glass Friday video I'm showing you guys my process for making these cute win chimes!
All glass is COE 96 compatible and fired using the auto settings in my Skutt kiln, unless otherwise stated.

Super adorable! Little tip- if you find the sharpie goes away when drilling, just put a tiny bit of chapstick on it and it stays during drilling. thanks for the motivation to try new things. Always love and look forward to your videos!

Awesome wind chimes. I make all my jump rings too. If you get an aluminum rod from the hardware store, cut it about 10” and put it in a drill you can wind up 3 feet of wire at a time.

These are awesome! I have a garden art show coming up and will try some of the flowers. I have made windchimes but not as small. These will go over well at a good price point! Thanks for sharing!

Love how the wind chimes turned out. As you can see I am still behind on watching KZfaq. You crack me up on how you do things sometimes. Don’t take me wrong you are very talented….you just make me laugh sometimes!

A flush cutter, you can get one from Michael’s,much easier than the blade. A dowel will work to hold them while you saw.

3mm. I sometimes use 2mm white or clear, but everything else is 3mm.

Hi, loving the video but as a relatively newbie to glass how did you get the dangling bits rounded at the ends?

Hi! They round when fired on a full firing schedule. They would stay square in a partial firing.

Hi, I was searching for information on how to tack fuse small projects and you popped up. Can you share the temperature you used for the little flower pieces? How long to hold it and any additional tips for success? I’d appreciate it. I have little 1”x2” pieces I’d like to fuse, but what I’m finding is larger projects. I imagine the size of the pieces are important in the process. I’ll want to fire several at a time, so I would think that needs consideration as well. Thank you for what you can offer. BTW….I’ve Never fused glass before so I’m a total amateur!

Hi there, I would suggest you look up a schedule from the manufacturer of the type of glass you’re using. That would be a good place to start, then you can adjust it from there. Every kiln is different, so the temps and holds I use won’t really help you. You can fire as many pieces that fit in your kiln at a time, that shouldn’t affect the schedule. Happy fusing!

OK I'm watching this and you are using Elmers glue. I generally use e 6000 is this Elmers regular glue you're using beautiful Work I love it. Thanks for sharing. My name is Nancy and I live in Virginia.

Hi Nancy, yes it’s regular white Elmer’s glue. I’ve never heard of using E6000 in a kiln, I imagine the smell is pretty bad when it burns off.
