My family was in the mood for some Puerto Rican food, so I figured you know what? If I am going to make this I might as well film it right? When we went to Puerto Rico my wife loved the Mofongo con Camarones al Ajillo (Mofongo w/ Garlic Shrimp) we had. It was one of her favorite dishes when we went out. While the whole thing looks complex, gourmet, and next-level it is really a quick and simple recipe that is pretty inexpensive. The whole thing took me less than 25 minutes beginning to end and the results were killer! So go ahead guys give this one a try it is a nice introduction to Puerto Rican food without being too exotic lol. Total Time: 25 Minutes
Makes: 4 Servings
Mofongo:
4 Plantains
3 to 4 Garlic Cloves
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
Garlic Butter Shrimp:
12 Jumbo Shrimp
1/2 Onion, Diced
1 Green Pepper, Diced
2 Garlic Cloves, Minced
1 Tbsp. Parsely
1 Tbsp. Cilantro, Diced
1/2 Cup Chicken Broth
1/2 Cup White Wine
1 tsp. Adobo
2 Tbsp. Butter
Salt
Pepper

This got me questioning my girls cuisine. (Puerto Rican) Apparently I've always had mangu(her ex of 16 years was Dominican) I've had this with shrimp. Almost the same as this dish, minus the chicharron and shitty red heavy vinegar hot sauce!

A lot of the Caribbean recipes are pretty close with just small differences. Just Puerto Rican versions are better lol 😂😂🇵🇷now you can make this for her and wow her lol

Lol, we both have to practice strict portion control lol. There have been some recipes that portions were thrown out the window and we pigged out LMAO. Nice video. I don't agree with the olive oil.and Cilantro should be added at the end so it doesn't cook. Keep it up!

That sauce was sofrito which is gross with shrimp.

I don't know who told you Sofrito has chicken broth or butter in it, but they need to go back and learn how to make it lol. It's cool people have heard of it though, but no this is no where near sofrito.
