In this video, I use all natural colours and essential oils to make my Taiwan swirl variation soap.
I have used an alkanet oil infusion and indigo powder, coupled with activated charcoal to create the colours in this soap.
If you would like to find out more about oil infusions for cold process soap I go over them in more detail in this video
• Annatto & Tumeric NATU...
This soap is for sale in my shop here: www.idreaminsoap.co.uk/
I try to give lots of hints and tips in all of my videos, so hopefully, you can use some of the techniques in this cold process soap making tutorial in your own soap making.
I hope you enjoy the video. I'd love it if you would give me a thumbs up, subscribe to my channel, and ring the notification bell. This helps me to grow my channel. If you have any comments or question please leave them in the comment section below and I will get back to you.

Disclaimer
Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Just lovely I would like to know when you're doing a loaf of soap after two days as it cures when do you cut the soap. Or do you wait and cut it just before the 6 weeks are up or do you cut it maybe a week after you let it set
@IDreamInSoap

It will depend on your recipe but you would typically cut the soap anything from a day to a few days later and cure it once cut into bars

Its the same with the alkanet root as with beetroot or red cabbage, the intensity of the colour depends on the pH-value. In an alkalic surrounding it changes to a blueish purple, in neutral or sour surrounding it is red. It would be intressting whether it stayes blueish or goes back to redish colour when the high alkalinity fades away after some time. However, beautiful Soap!

Fabulous video Lisa. Delving into natural colourants is on my to do list! Where do you source your alkanet and indigo from? It’s great to see how the colours have held up at 3 months, as I’ve heard natural colours can have a tendency to fade. Absolutely love the modified Taiwan swirl 😍😍

How long does a CP soap last?
@IDreamInSoap
@IDreamInSoap 3 жыл бұрын
Ooh it will last years if you are just storing it, if you mean as you use it, well, it just like normal soap and will last well, it's best to keep it dry between uses, so make sure you use a soap dish that drains the water away from the soap
