I’m 59 and when i was a kid my mother had three boys to feed. So when she made Salmon patties and sometimes she only had can Mackerel, cheaper than Salmon so she added some Ketchup to the Mackerel when mixing to give it that Salmon color. Great memories. Love the Potato in your recipe, so I must try this.

Wet a paper towel or have a bowl of water next to you when chopping an onion. The fumes draw water, that's why your eyes tear. This works for me everytime😊

Salmon patties bring back so many good childhood memories for me❤️. Growing up, sometimes we’d have them at breakfast with homemade biscuits. Sometimes I leave the bones and skin. May add potatoes next time. I usually make double and freeze half. Tfs,Gina❤️!

Hey Gina, Try burning a candle when cutting an onion 🧅 or try putting a wet towel by the onion while cutting it...then the onion juices will be absorbed by the wet towel or wet paper towel. Thanks for the video 😊❣️

This is crazy because I never buy canned salmon, but I went ahead and bought a can recently because I was able to get cash back for it on ibotta 😂. I used the recipe that was on the can and it was so blah! Next time, I’ll make it Gina Young style 😉

So I had this can of salmon in my pantry that was going out of date and not a clue of what to do with it. THIS is how to use salmon in a can!! We absolutely loved these and I'll be buying more canned salmon for my pantry. Thanks so much for sharing your grandma's recipe. This is a great change up for a meal.

Your first recorded recipe in your beautiful new home. And these salmon cakes look great. I clean mine just like you do. No bones and No skin. I love hot sauce on mine. As a child, I ate ketchup on mine. When I got a little older Tartar Sauce. Now Hot Sauce all of the way.

I just salmon patties with homemade biscuits add some yellow mustard and its HEAVEN!!! I loved when my granny cooked them! She would make them at least once a week and it was amazing and we were a happy family!
