At the Algae removal stage currently. Jumping in with scrubbing brush in hand and Goggles on. Water Scorpions in our pool, not so much spiders.

Fantastic advice on thorough pool care and maintenance. I also love your tip for saving quite a few dollars by purchasing bicarbonate -soda from Coles or Woolies as your pool buffer… We have been buying buffer from the pool shops for years and paying 10 times the $$$. Thank you mate. 👍

Thank you Steve. This is great. So thorough. That's the stuff I ...uh... my wife and son were looking for. Now the hard part; getting them to do it and save ~$200 a MONTH. If I can persuade them to do it, I'll be sure to have them send you a consulting fee. 😅 It's winter here now. Anything special we should do for this time of year. The pool service has told my wife to run the pump/filter non-stop, year round. I know it has a timer to turn on and off so I would assume that means the manufacturer doesn't expect it be run continuously forever. When my wife inherited the house her understanding from her father was a timed on/off schedule but when she took it over the pool service advised otherwise and whenever they came for the weekly cleaning they always turned the timer off and left the pump/filter running. ???

You're welcome mate...Just never suggest a topic again!!! 🤣🤣🤣😉 Keep the timer turning the pump on for at least an hour, twice a day (say 6pm - 7pm, and 6am - 7am), as pump motor life can be extended if ot can avoid running too hot, like during daylight hours. Check chlorine levels every few days, with a simple test strip kit as shown, and top up when necessary. Usually winter months are the times to add algaecide as shown, to prevent it sneaking up and taking hold. 👍❤️
