This first video in our Prosthetic Transfer series is on basic sculpting. We sculpt bullet holes, a cut and a scar and then prepare the sculptures for molding. Simplicity in sculpting is stressed in this video to help beginning Makeup Effects Artists grasp the concept of sculpting. We us minimal sculpting tools and teach the basics of skin texturing. The next video will explain how to make a plaster cast of your sculpture and latex application. More advanced videos will follow.

The clay I am using for sculpting is, Chavant NSP clay:

The light colored clay (Van Aken Clay) I used for the walls around the sculptures I bought from Hobby Lobby. It was inexpensive. You can use any oil based clay that is sulfur free for creating walls around your sculptures for casting. :)
