For those of you curious, I crunched the numbers when i made a batch of this yesterday. All in all, this comes out to about a 210g batch, and makes seven 30g balls. I would personally reduce the amount of salt. Nutrition info is as follows (give or take, depending on specific ingredients): One 30g ball = 130 cal, 7g fat, 17g carb, 2g fibers, 3g protein

For those moaning about measurement conversion:- A cup is a standard cooking size, I have a plastic one with the alternatives marked on the side: 1 cup is roughly 8 oz / roughly 220ml so 1/2 cup is roughly 4.5 oz / 120ml & 1/4 cup is roughly 2.5 oz / roughly 60ml ps. You're all ok with tablespoons (tbsp) & teaspoons (tsp), right?! ;p

Dee-Jay-Gee-Bee Thats fine for fluid but not for weight.

When you're talking rough amounts 1 gramme is not gonna be much different to 1 millilitre. Chefs are rarely that precise with their measurements anyway.
@bbmikej
@bbmikej 9 жыл бұрын
Dee-Jay-Gee-Bee To be honest, cup to oz is an exact measurement. 1 cup = 8oz, 1/2 cup = 4 oz, 1/4 cup = 2 oz. This makes them about 240ml, 120ml, and 60ml respectively. And in response to talking about fluid and weight, recipes use volume 95% of the time.

Michael Jones Yeah I was using rough estimates based on sight with the markings on my cup, rather than Googling the precise figures. My point still stands that these are ROUGH amounts; she free pours into the mixer rather than fannying about with accuracy down to the very last gramme. Cyclists love too much detail...

Not sure where to leave the answer for one of your cook books, so thought to leave it here. There are 21 stages in this years tour. Old be nice to see one of these publications in the U.S., but not sure if the chance of winning one is only limited to the UK. Nevertheless, thank you for putting the book together.

+Brian Gabriel, One cup is 250ml. 1/2 cup is 125ml. How much more metric can it be? All cooks/chef's etc use cups etc (as well as mass) for baking, . If it's really important to you, 1 cup of flour is 150g. Don't get me wrong, American cookbooks that specify tablespoons of butter drive me up the wall, but, there is nothing like that here. If the ingredient isn't reactive (flour, baking powder etc.), you don't have to weigh it to the gram. For these sort of energy balls, getting masses to the gram is overkill. Seriously, I'm a metric nazi, and I find cups, teaspoons, tablespoons etc. just fine.
