How to make rock buns | rock cake Jamaican style recipe

This is a delicious Jamaican snack called rock buns also know as rock cakes they’re a delicious snack you won’t resist, if you’re new on my channel please subscribe for more recipes

Here are the ingredients used:
4 cups all purpose flour
1 tbs baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tbs nutmeg
1 1/2 cups grated coconut flakes
1/2 cup of store bought coconut flakes
1 cup of brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbs vanilla
1/3 cup butter
2 cups of coconut milk

I made Rock Buns in Food and Nutrition class and CXC practical in 2004... Your recipe made the best rock Buns. Crunchy yet soft. I cut your recipe in half since it's been years since making Rock Buns and it yielded 9

I'm from St. Elizabeth in Jamaica but I live here in the tristate I recently got married and loves to cook for my husband I fell in love with him because he loves to eat and I love the kitchen lol he never gained a lb over 145 tho lol

Yes, rock cakes were one of the first things I learned to make on first form of high school. Now revisiting this to make for my granddaughter’s tea party to give it a Jamaican flair. Who would have thought I bring this full circle.

@@Howwerowescook Butter Boy had the shape of patties in a smaller form, with nothing inside except butter. I use to buy them outside the school gate from vendors for 10 or 15 cents, at Marlie Mount, Primary School in St Catherine. Miss Grandison was the school principal back then. They were served very hot. Not chillie hot, but hot from a glass case, where it was kept to maintain the heat. Very simple, yet so yummy 😋
