Great video, even with something seemingly simple, you've given lots of very helpful tips. Being really picky I see you pull the file across the wire ends, rather than pushing, but I guess it doesn't make much difference in this situation.

It is so funny, I bought a pair of these 12 or so years ago and they were 18 g so I ended up giving them away. I always looked for good instructions online to try with 20 g. Thank you so much! ❤🎉

Nice tutorial, but I would have liked to see a photo of the completed earrings in the ear. I used to use 1mm (18 gauge) wire when making earwires, but then some people complained that it was too thick, so I downsized to 20 gauge.

Surprised you used 1mm most would consider that way to thick to pass through ear piercings.

I've sold thousands of earrings made with 1mm wire - I've never had anyone have issues with it. I do disclose that it's a bit thicker than usual in the item description. I myself wear them all the time.

I always use 18 gauge wire for my earring findings.

I can’t do an 18 gauge in my ears either. After an hour or so I have to take them out. But I wish I could wear an 18 gauge for designs I’d like to make. If I’m making a simple ear wire 21 gauge is my preferred gauge. If doing a earring that incorporates going through the ear as a one piece design I use 20 gauge.
