I feel like I need a Zoom call with this man. I’ve been natural for almost 10 years and i feel so hair incompetent no matter how many videos I watch, no matter how many questions I ask my hair stylist. My 3c/4a hair is struggling 😩 and not struggling at the same time. Not sure what to do. I’d have him on my podcast First Paso to share his story with my audience while also intermittently helping me learn hair practices. I pray he sees this because... i. need. heelllpppp 😂.

Thank you from a fine, kinky, curly hair chic! Many hairdressers look at me crazy when I say I have fine hair. I went natural bc my relaxed hair made me look bald if I pulled my hair into a ponytail behind my head. I have a medium amount of hair on my scalp but my hair strands are literally baby fine. My hair will break off with any amount of repeat & constant manipulation. I wish I could find someone as knowledgeable as you in my area East TN. I’ve been natural 10 yrs and have yet to find someone I am comfortable with to do my hair on a regular basis. I’ve been trying to get to tailbone lengths for at least 8 years and I also fall shy by about 4 inches. I need the help of a professional but each time I’ve reached out they get pressed for time and rip through my hair. The Detangling & blow drying process is always the deal breaker for me. No one wants to use a tension method or stretch the hair or even sections the hair during these processes! You mentioned that your daughter has fine hair…Can you possibly do a video on how you would handle fine hair during a simple wash and press! Or wash & set! Thanks so much!

I am so grateful for your channel, you out of hundreds of vids on black hair care are the realest. I unfortunately broke off hair 2 yrs ago due to coloring it because I did a home combo of red and chocolate. It came out dope but my fine thin here became fragile and breaking off and curls in sections were gone. It grew back and got healthy with holistic kitchen herbs etc ( not rice water-worsened). Anyhooser, it got stronger and was growing nicely then in Oct. 2020 I got Covid was hospitalized in ICU 12 days, 🙏🏽 Blessed I survived. My hair post Hospital was coming out in clumps. I been wearing lace fronts and studying trying to figure out my porosity, etc. I've been watching your vids for a few months and this shampoo n conditioner has my curls strong and poppin and when gently stretched my hair is down my back now, stronger. You helped me save a couple wigs too. I just had to thank you. I also do my 2 grands hair when they stay over, Their mom is not to good at black hair care and won't listen so their heads come here all matted and dry, chile just raggedy!! But they go home looking good. Please keep up the AWESOME contributions here. God Bless You. Soon I hope to wear it natural in fall. I still protective style, eat right, moisturize, Deep condition and wear wigs only when out sometimes but at home I let it breathe. I saw your hair and said let me listen, he knows what's up. And yes you do. My curls are poppin again but still very thin. Thanks again...LOVE 🥰💝🧴🚿🥥🥑🧄🧅🍯🍍💦💆‍♀️Ladii TC

As a single white foster, soon to be adoptive, mom of two AA little girls, I have got to say thank you! There are so many different opinions, non-factual information, and old school methods out here. After a lot of studying the chemical components of AA hair, I have found your vids/information to be the best. Between learning hair porosity and seeing the affordable products you have shown, I have finally been able to figure out my youngest's hair, as you know, textures can change. I never had any clue about the depth of how difficult it can be to properly maintain and care for AA hair. That partnered with the overpriced, low commonality of products, and black-owned products, has been a struggle and is ridiculous. The capitalism of black hair care products is sickening. But anyway, I truly appreciate you and your helpful videos. So again, many, many thanks!!

Oh the irony I have fine hair that's past my shoulders and I recently bought a moisturizer that came in a spray bottle instead of a cream and oh my goodness what a difference the spray application makes it goes right into the hair and leaves it soft and healthy without making it look greasy which is fantastic as my hair can't handle a lot of creams, lotions, or oil without looking oily. I can confirm this is a good tip for fine hair. Thanks for including us fine haired folks. Much appreciated.

I usually use oils that my hair likes then I'll saran wrap it and blow dry it for about 5 minutes and that usually helps me for a minute. But eventually it's going to need some real moisture which is going to cause your hair to revert and there's no way around it lol.

I would love if you did a video on fine, relaxed hair. I watched your video on porosity and although my hair becomes immediately saturated when under water, I did a porosity test, just after washing, and my hair strands floated on the surface of the water. I have relaxed hair but it is thinning, perhaps with age, I don't know. Great video though, and yes, I did subscribe! Thank you for all your priceless tips! 🙂🙂

So from your lectures (cos you're an amazing teacher!) I've realized that I have very thirsty hair. Question: Do I let the moisturizer dry before I apply a sealant or should I apply my leave-in and then seal? I use shea butter to seal my hair but I'm never sure if I should apply it immediately or after the conditioner has dried.

As for the moisturizer drying then seal, no, it's best to apply it right after the moisturizer because you want the sealant to hold in that moisture. With the leave-in then sealant....that's basically the same thing, apply leave in then sealant (especially if the main ingredient in your leave in is water) how that helps.

I have a child who is Caucasian and Afro-American. I am Caucasian, I have no idea how to properly care for my son's hair. It is extremely dry. I buy hair products for natural hair but no matter what I try, his hair remains dry. I think I have tried many of the products you discussed. I want him to love his hair. I don't know what to do. I did just download your hair guide. Thank you for making that available.

I have lupus and fibromyalgia. Within the year (Spring 2019 to Summer 2020), I've lost and regrown hair (primarily in the back and the sides). The hair loss happened in patches. There was breakage down to the scalp in some areas and no hair left whatsoever in others. In either November or December, I shaved it all off. Thank the Lord, it's all grown back...even the skin-on-the-head-only bald spots. I use whichever sulfate-free hydrating shampoo I can afford (either Cantu Avocado Hydrating or Shea Moisture Manuka Honey). I reside in Albuquerque by the mountains. The air is very dry. I'm totally guilty of not drinking enough water...I'm trying to remedy that. I also have plans to purchase a satin pillow case. I tried wearing a satin-lined cap but, it irritates my head. It's the fibromyalgia...my scalp is always on fire. I believe I have low porosity hair...it floats in water. What to do? It's growing back thickly but, unevenly and it's still crispy dry. I plan to have it professionally cut in a pixie. I feel that I need to apply some type of daily hair lotion. When dry, it's the texture of Amber Ruffin's and with product, it curls into ringlets (like your hair looks without product)...if that helps any. I apologize for being long winded.

Thanks for this video I am still looking for a heat protectant and a serum for my relaxed hair that doesn't tolerate high protein hair products.

I live in the Mojave desert. I battle dryness daily. I must drench my hair daily with water (when I take a shower) and conditioner followed by a leave and oil. When I go longer than a couple of days, my hair is begging for hydration. I wish licensed cosmetologist would discuss the effects of climate on our hair. And recommend products based on climate. ❤

Yes, defo need! Also what about for menopause women as two years ago (because of heart & other problems), I’ve been on multiple medications and my hair started shredding, so was losing my lovely hair and was very dry. I started mixing (Trinidad thing) oils like; avocado oil, virgin oil, fengeek seeds, black castor oil & coconut oil. It has revived but still sheds now & then. 🤓🙏🏽🇬🇧

Oooohhh....ok. I found my first mistake! Trying to use my butters as my moisturizers. Now that makes sense. I will have to order these products because I haven't seen any of them in my local supply stores 😒. And I'm going to download your hair guide right now. Because obviously I missed some areas🤣😂. As always thanks for clarifying and providing info above and beyond to us amateurs. Love you Boo😘!!!
