How to mount a LED light bar on dirtbike without a battery

This video shows how I hooked up a light bar on my 2014 KX450. They sell a spot or a flood LED bar at harbor freight, I bought the spot light.

You can put a straight wire for power and put the switch on the ground wire so you dont risk shorting the power on the switch..nice video...

I Ordered a led light for a 2007 yz450f but it where should the red and black wire be when I ordered it it didn't show the red n black I just seen a plug in playtypething I thought

Been wanting to do my 2009 kxf but it looks like im going to have to fit a battery into my airbox and charge it every time 😞 not sure my bike makes 12v anywhere

You probably shorted the led’s you probably need a resistor somewhere in your cables. Just an relatively informed guess tho. Lol

I’m not sure, maybe your stater isn’t putting out 12v or maybe you don’t have a good connection

I’m gonna add a light to my kids xr200r. LED’s need dc. You have to run a regulator rectifier to change the ac current from the bike to dc current. The led is only getting powered like a pulse from the ac so you don’t see it but it’s constantly flickering really fast. At least I think that’s what I’ve researched.

I ran mine to my launch control switch but you can run it to any wire that has power while the bike is running. If you have a volt meter, just start the bike and start touching wires to see which one has 12v.
