Yes sir! Someone else mentioned turning your front foot at an angle. I also do that, but only for certain tricks, like the nollie crook.

Great tips! After learning how to Nollie, I really unlocked them for myself by playing with the angle of my popping foot (right/front foot for goofy). Like opening up my stance so my heels point towards each other a lil bit have me a ton more pop. Definitely angled more than my popping foot on a regular Ollie.

I angle my front foot as well. Depending on the trick you’re trying, it really helps. The nollie crook really benefits from the angle. You can dig in extremely well, when your front foot is angled.

Thanks for this! I haven’t ever really tried to skate nollie or switch because it’s just feels so awkward. I’m 24 now it’s honestly embarrassing. 😮 I definitely press down too much on the nose and I fall forward. I’m going to try again today with these tips in mind. 😂
@NormanWoods

I hope it helps. Don’t be embarrassed. I was in a rush to skate switch/nollie, in my early days on a skateboard. Today, nearly 26 years in, I often have days where I don’t even attempt anything in the opposite stance, and just appreciate powerful tricks in my normal stance. As long as you’re having fun, you’re doing great.

I watched the premiere of this. Thank you for giving reasons on "why" to nollie! I've been wondering for the longest time the applications of a nollie vs normal ollie for a while now and this definitely helped with the reasoning.

I've never been able to break the habit of pushing mongo when I'm switch. I'll give your described message a try to see if I can finally cut that out.

I hope it helps. I used the tactic so described, and forced myself to push everywhere switch. In a matter of months, I became comfortable.

i really appreciate the wisdom but i think some visuals of you showing where to put feet on the board or the movements to make would be super helpful. maybe just have a board by your side to lift up and point to stuff.

I’ll keep that in mind for the next one. Sometimes, I forget a visual or two. Thanks for the suggestion, and for watching.

I’m working on them and can kind of do em 👀 I do it enough to be able to do a nollie front tail , so I imagine once I work on them some more with your tips I’ll be able to get them higher and get those lipslides👀
@NormanWoods
@NormanWoods 6 ай бұрын
I’ll bet you could already get a nollie lip, with a day or so of attempts. Nollie tails are so much fun. Shifting from one edge of the board(front) to the other(back), with your weight, then crouching and holding on, when you’ve locked in, is satisfying!

I skate a 8.80 and wanna go back to 8.5 or 8.38 due to having to try to hard for 360 flip. Would it be an Issue to skate indys 159 with 8.38 Norman? Big fan

@NormanWoods
@NormanWoods 6 ай бұрын
No worries. Those are crazy tricks. DM me the inward 540 one. I love to see tricks that I can’t do. Seems like your style is more spin than pop. We all have our strong points. Anything that spins more than 360 has always been tough for me to crack. I’ve landed triple kickflips, but could never make them look decent, and broke a couple decks landing them funky.
