Basically rule of thumb is, if they give you features to use, definitely use them. This includes regular maintenance things like posts and responding to reviews.

Hi there thank you for the question. Yes local citations are important. Mostly for. consistency of your company information across the web. Name address phone number should be the same everywhere. I think as long as you are not stuffing the keywords, responding with relevant keywords is helpful. I still try to do it as much as possible. It is of course best if clients leave reviews with the keywords but of course hard to do. Typically your GMB optimization would be part of an overall SEO package from a marketing agency. Hi, Chevie. Thanks for the helpful video. I would like to get some advice from you. 1) I have a young Remodeling agency, but I don't have an office yet. I serve a location within a 20 km radius of where I live, which includes 10 small towns. In Google My Business, I listed my home address as my location. But I am extremely reluctant to list my residential address for this purpose. I would like to ask how much I would lose for local search if I don't put my address in Google My Business at all, just put "service area" for my business (10 cities). 2) I also have a website that lists my NAP. If I now remove my home address as my location, how do I then promote my website (SEO) by doing citations of my business in various directories without an address?

Hi there, Thank you so much for the question. 1) Service area businesses are quite common as many small businesses start out working from home or have a home office and are uncomfortable sharing that specific address. There isn't anything specific I have found to say that service based GMB listing will rank any lower than a physical location. I believe the same rules would apply, and how close the searcher is to your location would still matter just as much. 2) The NAP is a tricky one with submitting to local citations and directories. Some directories may enable you to also choose a service area business just like in GMB. You could: -Potentially try not using an address on many directories, NAP consistency is important but I think it would more pertain to inconsistent addresses rather than some listings simply not showing your address at all. -You could try a co-working office space or somewhere you potentially use a small area just to use for a business address. Then you won't have to worry about your personal address at all.

Ok, this is old video; we manage our business now on Search or Maps (I prefer maps) BUT old dashboard is still available. I WISH I have short name :O ! Info - calendar, telephone, web - location (I don't have that, but I could, saw that Google provide free simple page. I am a pet sitter with hundreds of pictures and stories ) and so on - link for apotiments (not so needed, I work on days, rarely on hours ). But SHORT NAME ?! I WISH! Thanks :)

Every service and business will be different in how much they convert. A business with emergency. service will convert much higher than a business with less "urgency". I'd suggest focusing on getting more exposure. Either via facebook/instagram or an optimized website. Hope this helps.
