Nice job job my mate but I always finish off with a compact foam roller which makes the finished article look like it’s been spray coated.

Hello, nice job. I have a question, I have a rusty bathroom radiator that needs sanding down and painting. Once I’ve spot primed and applied a full coat with B-I-N Primer, can I apply a satin paint as a top coat to radiator (I’m not keen on using gloss paint.) I’ve used satin paint on other radiators in the house and look great but they’ve never rusted. Thank you and keep your videos coming, they’re great.

Thank you.. as long as you have covered the rust enough then it should be fine with water based satin.

Hello, I just have another question, I hope you don’t mind! I know you can use BIN primer to prime copper pipes but would you then use the Leyland Acrylic Primer Undercoat (before topcoat paint) on them also? Thanks

No problems You can gloss over B.I.N. but for best results better to use brilliant white undercoat.

Hi, Do you thin down the Ronseal paint? If so, what paint to thinner ratio would you use?

Well to be honest I have never thinned it down, I always buy small tins of paint so I've always got the right consistency of paint. Especially when one tin goes a long way. They do different types white spirit and water based. But read the label and it usually says how to thin the paint but failing that see what is used to clean the brush out with. Which is usually white spirit or water so you can thin your paint with the one you need. Never pour water based paint back in the tin once it's been thinned otherwise your paint will go off and smell bad.

Could I use oil based undercoat rather than acrylic undercoat and then water based satin on top?

Here's a tip. Those plastic cups you get from water dispensers pinch some and cover the valves.. Saves little spots of paint on them.

Does it matter if the primer isn't for radiator like the top coat?
