Paint a beautiful iris flower with me! This is one of the most popular watercolour tutorials on my website, so I made it into a video for you. You'll just need some vibrant purples, yellows and greens for this simple iris flower.
Paint along with me in real time as I talk you through the watercolour process, step-by-step, to creating beautiful purple iris flower. We'll look at painting the architectural iris petals and adding easy wet on wet detail, and then adding long elegant leaves.
For this watercolor tutorial you will need:
- Watercolour paper - I'm using Legion Stonehenge Aqua Coldpress 100% cotton in a 10x7 block
- Watercolour brush - I'm using Princeton Aqua Elite synthetic round in a size 6
- Watercolor paint - I'm using Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour Paints in:
- Dioxazine Purple
- Cadmium Yellow
- Sap Green
You'll also need some clean water and a paper towel or cloth for drying your brush.
