I like the shot of the pallet in the corner, it really helps and you seem to have really nailed keeping everything in focus.

32:50 if you use a medium, a varnish or dedicated fixer, it will indeed change the look. Two products that keep the look almost completely are IPA (be a little careful to not damage the paintjob of your mini) and white spirit (won't harm the acrylics at all). The reason I tend to use IPA is that it preserves the look of the dry pigments a little better. IPA also smooths out the surface a little (which scale wise looks better to my eye). Both options don't actually "fix" the pigment, but they will help keep the pigment on your bases compared to now fixer whatsoever.

Micro sol is really necessary. It completely changes the transfer and makes it look so it isn't a transfer. Your transfer is really very noticeable you can see the lip all around it even with gloss varnishing. I don't even have to varnish over a transfer for it to be completely flat after using micro sol. There's a reason why scale modellers swear by it and have done for many years!

It's actually interesting, cause every single information I've found on Tamiya X-20a is that it shouldn't be used with water-based acrylics :D

@@ThomasWinslove I know, I know, but Tamiya acrylics are using different medium as far as I remember (I use them for bigger models cause they work way better with an airbrush and chipping mediums) and every single scale model shop says a huge no-no to mixing them with Vallejos / Citadels / Anything less toxic than my ex.

Why use tamiya thinner with citadel paints? Can’t you just use normal, cheap airbrush thinner? Thought tamiya was specially formulated for tamiya paints or something.

As always a great video, sir! I have a question regarding your palette: when I am painting, sometimes the colours tend to separate with the water after some time and pool a lot more than on your palette. Do you add dish soap to your water or why do the colours behave so much different for me?

I don't add anything to the paints apart from water. Mostly I keep stirring them but it might also be that you have too much water in your wet palette. Also, some paints are different to others and more prone to separating.
