How to Perform Bow Mount Trolling Motor Installation - Minn Kota Terrova, Ulterra, Ultrex

Here are step by step instructions for Minn Kota Terrova, Minn Kota Ulterra, Minn Kota Ultrex, Minn Kota Powerdrive or any other bow mount trolling motor installation. When I'm installing Minn Kota trolling motors on my boat, there are are some simple steps that will keep you from damage and maintain optimum usage for your rig. When performing bow mount trolling motor installation, I like to install the Minn Kota quick release bracket to make it easy to to remove the motor for repair or maintenance.

I mounted my quick release plate, the same as your video but facing the bow, so I could remove and replace it from the front of the boat. Do you see a problem with that? BTW, great install video!!

Where did you mount your heading sensor? Trying to decide if I mount it under the bow somehow. Don't like drilling holes in my boat.

Was this bracket able to slide back a few inches? What was bracket number?

I’m trying to decided between the ulterra and the ultrex! I’d really like the ulterra because I fish alone a lot but I’m afraid of it hitting the roller of my trailer everytime I unload it into the water deep enough to use the self deploy and remote .. have you had any problems with it hitting? or am I just over thinking it? Hash tag help!! Lol

I’ve never had a problem with my Ulterra hitting on my 620 and I’ve launched at a lot of different ramps around the country.

Had a problem w my ulterra launching , enough where I got it fixed after it took three months and sold it and got a Terranova

That's a mk 61 mk 62....but its not for that. I switch motors with an ultrex as well and modify it to work. I d suggest looking for one that specifically made for ulterra if that's what you have
