I dont now that the game is called 6 nimmt! in english because this is german and means 6 takes!

I am still a little confused. I played this at my gaming group and they did this as you suggested- you need to put your card at the END of the appropriate row. But then I went to play on Board Game Arena (en.boardgamearena.com/#!gamepanel?game=sechsnimmt&section=howtoplay), and they allow you to insert your cards into the beginnings of the row... Very confusing! Is this a variation?
