Always love your videos! Are you getting slippage at this stage in your journey because your hair was cut & color treated?

Yes, absolutely! Cutting opens the ends of the locs and color loosens the curl pattern. Soooo yeah, slippage is ramped right now but it's only like 6 locs that completely unraveled. 3 more days til reti day...can't wait.

⁠ ok that makes sense… but what about the long stray hairs that i pull out from marriage? They are extremely long so seems like they were living in the wrong loc to begin with as I “think out loud” (I know that doesn’t make sense) bc the marriage hairs are long (like 8-10 inches) not short from new marriage. So I guess the real question is once these strands are unmarried from the wrong loc can the rejoin the right loc even though they didn’t start in that loc at the time of establishment. ( I am 7 months newly sister locked for point of reference). Thanks!❤

Ok so I sprayed Rosewater with glycerin to separate and it may just be me, but it seems to actually tangle my hair? Thanks for this video and the details you offer.

It really depends on your routine, hair texture, etc. Once I separate my hair, it usually stays separated until I wash it again.

How often should you separate microlocs? I have 415 starter locs, on my first set of starter locs (I'm currently on my second set) my hair began to marry at certain parts of my head around 3-4 weeks of having them. I don't want my roots to mat up, should I separate them every wash day? Or separate them only when its time to interlock them?

When you are newly loc'd what is the best schedule is it every 4 or five week schedule ? I'm trying to stick to a safe schedule because I know that we should not reti too often. I love your videos ❤️

Thank you. If you have sisterlocks or microlocs that look like sisterlocs, then 4-6 weeks. If you have larger size microlocs, then 6-8 weeks is good. If they look more like traditional size, then about 12 weeks. Hope that's helpful. Yes, you can add oil to the water and spray your roots with it to soften it up before separating your locs. Hope that helps.

You could but most people don't even want to touch their locs, especially if over 400
