Finally, a note: I realized after giving this talk that I came across as being down on the Liturgy of the Hours. I'm sorry if I gave that impression - my saltiness is directed only toward the LotH's lacunose selection of Psalms. (I also don't love the translation. But the Revised Grail will be a big improvement.) The Liturgy of the Hours itself is a great way of working prayer into your daily life. Just do what my friends in the clergy do: write the missing Psalms and verses into your copy of the LotH.
