How to remove replace or reattach kitchen cabinet hinges

If you are replacing cabinet hinges, or need to know how to remove a hinge, or you have removed it and can't get it back on.. I'll show you how in this video.
Make sure to choose the right style hinges, either face frame or frameless. and 1/4, 1/2 or full overlay. Blum Catalogue (free helpful reference) publications.blum.com/2020/ca...

I’ve never been able to get the cupboard doors back on. They do come off easy though. But today I searched & found this wonderful video of yours and just like that, I put the cupboard door back on. When it clicked in place, I couldn’t believe it was that easy! I’m so proud of myself. Thanks to you of course. 😀

This would be the best how to video on the entire www. My husband fiddled around for hours trying to get cupboard doors off. We looked at many many clips but couldn't get it. The angle you held the camera to show the clip on the back hinge, was all that was needed. If I had found it an hour or two earlier, we would not have had the massive argument we had. Mate, I can't thankyou enough for such a brilliant tutorial on fixing the kitchen cabinetry. One of my kitchen cabinet door top hinge came off and no amount of Bunnings explanation text helped me, but this video helped me fix my door straight away. Cheers, -Ram

OMG Thank You!!! One of the hinges somehow popped off, so I undid the other one before it broke. I tried in vain to get them back on but could not. I thought the hinge was broken. The door has been off for 3 months. I finally realised it was not broken but I couldn't for the life of me get it back on, even after watching other videos. I just found your video and got the door back on in 2 minutes!

This was exactly what I was looking for. Got them off to paint, easy peasy. Getting them back on, there was crying involved, I hurt both of my wrists and lost skin off my fingers. Unfortunately I can get one on top or bottom, but not both at the same time. Luckily the builder has to come back in two weeks. I'm going to have to paint them fast so they're done by the time he comes back so h3 can do it. Thank you!

Thanks for the helpful video, Kent! I’ve been able to reconnect the hinge from the door to the side of the cupboard. However, it doesn’t seem to “lock” properly into place like yours does (noting it’s also a slightly different style to yours), or after locking it will come loose again after closing and opening the door a few times. The other hinges on the door seem to be locking flush. Do you have any suggestions for fixing this? Or is it potentially time to replace this troublesome hinge?

Thanks Kent - I’ve gone to Bunnings to try and replace the hinge, but I can’t find the exact same hinges, so the screw holes don’t line up. Not having much luck finding the same ones online either. The only identifiers that seem to be on the hinges are 4C6A 01 and H0BQ 21A. Do you have any suggestions?

The nails in the old hinge has threaded so I have a new hinge. Just need to know how to replace the new one. Thanks

Hey Anna, those nails will be screws, take one down to the hardware store and ask them for the next size up in ‘gauge’ (diameter or thickness), but the same length (so they don’t poke through to the other side). This should sort you out👍, best of luck. Kent

We can not get these on! Any tips? Either the top hinge goes on and not the bottom or vice-versa. They were removed as we damaged them, our cabinet maker made new ones for us - now we can't get them on - any helpful hints or things we could try would be very useful.

Hey Tania, my first thought was that the new door or hinges are in slightly different positions than previously, further apart or closer together to each other? As a work around can I suggest you fit the hinges to the door, then measure the distance between them, then fit the base plates to the cabinet at the same measurements so they will now line up when attempting to reattach door to cupboard 💁🏻‍♂️ best of luck. I think I may have broken my hinge. I have quick release hinges on my cabinets but when trying to get the cabinets back on a spring and the piece you press to release completely fell off of the hinge and I can’t seem to get them back on. Do I need to purchase a brand new hinge or is this fixable?? Please help!
