This is a video showing you how to remove a transmission out of a 93 Honda Prelude Si. The procedure for any Honda using an "H" or "F" series powertrain w/ hydraulic clutch is the same so this video would help with those too. This would include all 92 and up preludes and quite all 4 cylinder Honda Accords 90-2002.

Important safety tip: Even with the suspension hanging unloaded there's quite a bit of force being exerted by the strut on the control arm. When you're separating the lower ball joint stud from the arm, always thread the nut back on partway after you've broken it loose. That'll keep the arm from popping violently off and possibly throwing the separator tool at you and injuring you.

Thanks for the video. I personally wouldn't put the ball joint removal tool directly on the ball joint stem. I've mushroomed a ball joint that way. A nut installed flush with the end of the stem is more foolproof. I like the old trick to pop the ball joint loose that involves jacking up the assembly, inserting a ratchet handle in the space between ball joint and the lower arm then lowering the assembly.

I have a 92 accord and my lower balljoints did not need a puller or hammer I used a jack to compress the suspension and slid a set of vise grips in between the knuckle and lower control arm and lowered the jack The spring popped my lower control arm out

I have a 94 Honda Accord we just put in a new used transmission after the old one quit after 400,000+ miles. The first problem was leaking transmission fluid& it shifted fine we drove it home & drove it back to the shop, got to the shop & had a leak in the Axel seal changed it and it still leaked found out we needed new cv axels & changed them, no more leak. But now when the car warms up & we drive it for about 5-10min it stops shifting & just revs up reverse works fine though after it warms

very good and descripted video. so the question on how you got that hidden bolt in the back on top of the trans mount. Im in the middle of doing it now and I feel like I tried everything, but nothing and in the video it really doesn't say how you got It.

Great videos. You might want to thread the ball joint nut on flush with the end of the ball joint stud before using the removal tool so you don't damage the stud.

Bent and broke a few things trying to get the axle nuts.. tried heat but propane is not hot enough.. tried 2 impacts then paid someone with a real impact to get em.. took them 30 seconds

Instead of putting the tire back on to remove the hub nut just stick a screw driver into the top of the rotor,turn the rotor until the screw driver hits the caliper then loosen.

Some of those nuts are tighter than billy-hell. I have had to use a 3/4 breaker-bar with a cheater bar AND had the car down AND chocked AND had to have a guy push on the brakes while I pulled on the cheater-bar ('93 Accord)

I'm having the worst time trying to pull the driver side cv axle off it just wont come out of my 99 prelude its probably because of the atts bull that is all there in the way but what can i do i've tried a strap and a pry bar and it barely budges i think i got it to move out just a little bit but i can't really tell. any help or info or best would be a video would be helpful plz help.

Yea it wont start at all now somebody was saying that my timing is off because my timing belt is frayed a little bit. But my car is an automatic and it should start even if the transmission is gone right?

i need to change the transmission on my '93 buick regal with the 3.1 engine.i guess it would be pretty much the same.i couldn't find a video for my car.what about electric power tools from harbor freight. would they be strong enough to do this job.

Lol, more than 2 years after the video uploaded, an advice that you have oil leaking from the oil filter. I'm sure that oil filter changed so many times already and that leak long gone.

I have the b 1991 ex auto when im in town i hear a whine or whizz like sn old electric golf kart sound and the rpm slightly goes high to 3 then it feels not a smooth as it should.

If it's automatic and you put fluid back in, make sure you use HONDA transfluid...

The video explains well but just the viewing are that you show does not really show where exactly you are working on the car if your going to make a how to video you should show a better view of the vehicle and explain where exactly you are working on the car because you are too close to the parts your working on to see where the parts are located under the car
