Just a heads up, the lube is applied to the base of the crank, not the top hexagonal part. Also, the old seal at the base of the valve should be completely removed and the new O ring fitted in it's place (the new O ring is not placed under the existing seal)

X8r themselves told me to leave the old o ring in place and to not scrape it out

Flapper broke off on my friends, this might not ALWAYS cause stalling, but in this case it did. Where it broke was creating a vacuum leak. Diagnosed problem by spraying brake cleaner around disa, at first I thought it was the O-ring but that didn't solve the issue. Rebuild with new flapper fixed the stalling/running rough issue

Would this make your car stare off slow and then pick up speed but makes my transmission light turn on but Disa is broken so I’m a little confused 2004 bmw 525i

Shouldn't the O ring (Orange) be removed properly first then put new O ring (Black) into the grove for proper seal? I'm confused.. 🙄

Would this cause the car to stall?

No. DISA valve controls the path the air moves through the intake system and into the engine. This flap opens and closes to either shorten or lengthen the path the air takes to get to the cylinder chamber. At low RPM's, the valve is closed, forcing the air to take the longer path to the cylinders.

@@HadgarageUK ah ok I thought the gasket was bad on my friends disa because it's having a vacuum leak and when I sprayed brake cleaner near the gasket it raised the idle and smoothed it out. So I went to change the gasket and saw that the disa was snapped off. Gasket did nothing for the intake leak so now I'm confused

Vacuum leak is very common problem on these engines. You can watch this video and see where i found my vacuum leak kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5infqmIy7-3hWw.html also you can look on KZfaq for the most common vacuum leaks. If the flap is missing this may cause check engine light and running lean codes p0171 and p0174

@Modern Spirit it actually was the problem since the flapper broke off and this might not ALWAYS cause stalling but the part that broke made a vacuum leak through the DISA, rebuild solved the problem
