At -025 that's manually open and lock the door. I also spected you to lock it and open by the door button also by remote. Thanks for the video very good info👍

Great Video..thanks..I have a 97 es 300..where the latch does not work inside..hopefully it is just the cable cam disconnected. Problem started when I noticed door latch had screw missing and was loose...this is going to bae a BigHelp..thanks

By far, one of the best DIY videos because of your close up photography attention to the details. If you should read this, I am wondering whether the cause of my situation (2006 Camry) is the same as the bad door latch that you demonstrated was your problem. My problem is that my door latch only sometimes resists opening on one pull. It does that only if I just shut off the engine and immediately then pull on the latch. Then it will not respond on one pull. However, if I wait one full second after I shut off the engine, the door latch will open if pulled. Kind of weird. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey man good video. I was curious if it is always necessary replacing the whole assembly or you would be able to make any DIY fixes and adjustments w/o buying any parts?

I have no idea. You'd have to take it apart and find out for yourself. That's the joy of fixing things. See what is broken, a weld, a snapped piece of plastic, or a part detached. Once you know what broke, think of how it can be fixed cheaply.

Mines does this same thing when I try to open it it doesn't fully unlock causing the door to crack open then I pull the handle again it opens so it's a bad actuator and not the cables I thought it was a bad cable or something

Can I just replace the plastic part that clips the door to the car and holds it shut without replacing the whole piece? Vandals cut it.

You use a slim jim and pull up on the metal bar that goes door handle

Great video i have 2002 toyota camry le 2.4 I hit my remote control to unlock the doors I having problems with, the passeger rear door ipull the door Handle from the outside n nothing happens ,I have to open it from the inside then it will open ,,im a diy gal...help anybody?

FYI I found it almost impossible to get that lock horizontal shaft engaged into the actuator. The trick!!!! On the edge of the door, above the latch is a rubber grommet. Remove this grommet and loosen the set screw holding the door key lock in-place. Remove the key lock. Install the actuator then lastly reinstall the key lock. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!!!

Tried to replace the latch in my 4Runner, but couldn't get a replacement. Once it's locked, it won't unlock. Disconnecting the lock and gonna put a deadbolt in it. It's just a back door anyway

You didn't list a year for your vehicle so don't expect a lot of vehicle specific advice here. If you can't find a part new, try a local junkyard. It's way cheaper.

I tried. Can't get the part, and the spring in the latch is dead. It's a 1999. Door is now locked forever
