How to Replace Fuel Filter on 2000-2006 BMW e46 325i/330i

Save yourself a few bucks by changing the Fuel Filter yourself on your 2000-2006 BMW 325i, 330i, 325ci, or 330ci. Anyone can complete this job with a few simple tools and it'll be cheaper than going to the dealership!

I also forgot to mention in the video that the oem clamps that hold the hoses to the fuel filter need to be cut off. The clamps are basically crimped onto the fuel hose and will be obvious they're not normal hose clamps. The clamps are single use and will need to be replaced with either oem clamps from the dealership or with fuel hose clamps. My fuel filter was replaced by a previous owner which is evident by there being fuel hose clamps on those hoses.

What about a 2000 323ci, made before 9/2000…. That type needs the filter but pressure regulator as separate part… ugh

If ye answer comments or no, hopefully ye do. Would tha F-connecter vacuum hose cause a rough idle or rough running? I have fuel trim codes, as well as MAF codes, and rough running. Changed MAF and boots. Still running very rough. Thinking maybe fuel filter, but wondering if should change out that vacuum line as well.

Anything that would allow air into the vacuum (anything after the MAF sensor) could cause a rough idle/rough running. So any vacuum lines which are cracked and would allow air in could do it. The disa valve gasket is another common cause of a vacuum leak. And I believe the disa valve itself not working could cause a rough idle as well.

Was ur car running before u changed it or it wasn't if I'm asking is because i got one just like urs but mine don't wanna start so I'm thinking if is the fuel filter or the fuel pump

What is figure of fuel trim to be decided to replace filter?

It's unlikely that you'll know exactly what needs replaced strictly based on the fuel trim. But in any case, if the fuel trims are positive, then it means the system thinks it's running lean and so it's trying to add more fuel to the mixture. That would mean it's something related to fuel delivery - but only if you know your O2 sensors are working properly.
